Work boot suggestions

Tbh if you want to wait around in water why not just wear wellies. I prefer boots to work in but wellies are a necessity in the UK.

I have seen these which look a good option.

Seen a few lads in helly Hansen that used to wear snickers....

Redbacks have never lasted me more than a year, and the stitching always fails causing dirt dust etc to get in.... and water. Which is a shame as they are very comfy

I don't wear them in water was just pointing out they not very good for water even though listed as waterproof. The xr3 are great in water although I wear wellies if it's bad it's just the odd time you get caught out on wet ground with unseen holes

My Murcia are S7 but still have the stupid holes that let stuff past, you can see your socks between the side and the tongue then the rest of the boot rises a fair bit

I seem to remember my strauss boots being the same with the tongue. But otherwise good quality boots. I replaced with jallate boots which where good but a bit stiff to begin with.
I'm not a fan of cat boots. One high top pair I had where brilliant boots but a smooth trainer like sole. Good for tarmac but fell over a few times on muddy slopes that wouldn't have happened with other boots. Then the next pair I had melted the glue in the sole standing on tarmac.
I've had loads of different boots and always end up with buckler dealer boots. If they did them with composite toe cap they would be the ultimate boot I think. I always forget how bad steel toe caps are in the winter until my toes feel like they are about to fall off

So ended up with these 'Hard as Nails" Buckbootz. £93. Feel quite heavy but classed as waterproof and Goodyear welted sole

What are you expected to pay for redbacks?
(I wear them, but I've got an excuse!)

Just an FYI, the urethane soles have zero grip on ice

Yeah Redbacks definitely more suited to summer use

After getting a pair of composite toe cap boots I realise and steel toe cap boots is a summer only.
After getting composite toe I realised the years of freezing toes was completely pointless and unnecessary

I think I struggled to get composite and waterproof in the same boot.
As I don't plan on being here for most of the winter I went more for the waterproof option. Too wet though and it'll be wellies

been a few occasions my toe caps have saved my toes from almost certain oblivion

I was like that with the Redbacks. I thought at 1st not enough support but you soon get used to them
