Got to do some digging today nice change from being a builder

yeah your bang on ....but it might make the winter job list they seem a consumable of sorts I guess.
just had brakes looked at while i was away, seems like nobody fettles anymore - they put new compressor on and then whole drier unit on cos it was all contaminated plus,2 new batteries cos one had a buggered terminal post, not even a fettling corner in these places, just a corner full of very expensive boxes of new bits.

I feel like it’s a bit soft for the skid steer.

It went in ok but the bottom of the pond was too soft- with the bucket flat giving flotation you could get on it but tracks sunk enough to make life interesting when crowding the bucket. Tried scooting around the firmer edges but not practical when I could just get the digger in there and pile it up.

It was handy for moving silt from piles on the banks to the fill in spots though.

Serviced the pressure washer and set up a diaphragm pump I had lying around to fill the snow foam bottles.

Little incremental improvement that will make life so much easier.

CBN wheel on the grinder and water mist coolant. There’s always a dozen twats who say they can do a better job with a file- no you can’t.

Chain grinders do tend to burn chains, but not set up like this they don’t.

Its the hydraulic clamp Oregon grinder with a Baltic Abrasives CBN wheel.

Have you borrowed Rory’s camera, or are you purposely blurring it so we can’t tell how sharp it actually is?…

Ah, didn’t realise it was a pond. Last thing you want is snot building up between the finals and motors, it finds its way past the duo cones. Sounds like an interesting job, do you need a rough old part time driver when I hang my Cat boots up?

I can sharpen a full chisel as well or better with this than by hand also…. I did a few 28” loops after all the picco ones.

Semi chisel picco is ideal for most of my work, which is stuff like 12” birch on ironstone sand. The reason I only run a small saw most of the time is that I only make a few cuts, the digger does the rest. An MS261 is ideal to lift out of the holster on the digger repeatedly without getting knackered.
