Blower type are possibly cheaper to run and slightly cleaner water but need more servicing.
Tbf that motor lasted about 10 years so pretty good as on 24hrs a day

Yes I've always been told the blowers are less reliable, especially if the blower unit is in the tank and not remote. I've never fitted a bio disc. Always different versions of bubblers. With different chamber setups. For the effort of changing a bubbler pump every few years they are so light to install I can't see the merit as an installer of putting in a bio disc

Same here.
If the discs fail very expensive.

Blowers seem to go every 3 years on the external ones less on the internal but they’re only £160
And 5 mins to wire in and change

Done a few big bio discs for trust as architects seem to love them

Finally got this hitched up ready for tomorrow.

Bit of an ankle breaker getting into the cab, door barely clears it.

Friday at the factory cleaning the waterjet pit. This larger pit is a right pain with filters everywhere, surrounded by garnet sand mixed with copper strips. Next to impossible to dig. First time on this one with the tilty and by God it makes a difference.

I think the filter system will need to be replaced this time, plenty of holes in the pipework. Said this to them hoping that they could just call the distributor. Apparently it’s made custom each time, so looks like I have to do it. Luckily the factory is shutdown for a few weeks whilst they move machines to a new building. Caught a pic of the moving team using a five ton truck to fit the forks to their big bastard.

Amazing what folk will push for a free hamper once in a while!
No issue with blowers so long as they are external - internals are such a bad idea and need retrofitting externally for any kind of lifespan ! Had them last 10yrs no problem!
Tricel have it nailed imo, simple, nice to installl and external blower mounted on the lid makes perfect sense!

I don't think they target the individual architects. It's a common trick with industries that exclusively come through higher education, to target the lecturers or even the universities themselves. Get the syllabus written to reflect your product is cheaper than than talking to every single architect every year.
The other problem is architects love using fancy things. It's as if they feel that it makes them superior to spec the most expensive options. They love it when they get a chance to spec a macerator system. When they could build the house 12in higher.

I think the graff units are really good. A separate blow moulded box that uses 110mm soils pipe as the duct to run the pipework in

those Versalifts are a big beast... there's also one with 4 multi stage rams -one each corner - with a telescoping overhead frame for suspended lifting (which'll also take a fork adaptor -- think that's American though ??
