I like the "idea" of a supercharger, but the practicality needs to be justified (does it actually produce any more power?).

A dyno test before and after would be a good start.
One of the historical problems of adding a supercharger (mechanical mostly, but also applies to exhaust turbines) is where to put the carb - before or after the pump?
- before the pump is easiest, but the fuel droplets tend to come out of air-mix and wet the walls causing the air-fuel to vary according to revs
- wetting the rotors with a solvent like petrol can cause rotor wear.
Mounting the carb after the blower is better for many reasons, but most carbs are vented to atmosphere (for reference pressure) and don't cope with a positive pressure on the inlet. SU's are the common pick (the ref. pressure is sampled at the inlet)

Then of course there is lube and cooling - on an engine with no oil pump (splash lube), you can't add an oil cooler and you can't improve the oil flow.
Materials - will it hold together?

And a small problem of compression - force more air in and the compression pressure goes up - so you need high octane fuel unless you lower the compression (ie. drop the compression ratio for the same final pressure) or it will pink (pre-ignition) badly

I get all the battery stuff For power tools and certain vehicles and plant. Glendale's where clearing out site and had all KRess stuff and was so quite, so much nicer than the old petrol stuff.
But something about all this battery stuff now just doesn't seem sustainable. And the battery charge times seem like a recipe for disaster, obviously I am no expert, and this might just be a conspiracy theory. But I'm sure something somewhere just doesn't add up about the motives for battery equipment and where the technology is going.

I get you and you know my feelings...

Just simply put this up as this is normal kit available where we gonna be in 5 years.
I'd never bother buying 2s now unless a big saw.

It must be pushing the boundaries of safety you'd think on heat and risk of a battery going pop surely?

You would think at some point, something, will go pop.

The electric stuff is very good now. But playing with it, none of it seems the quality of the 2stroke comparison. I don't know if this in just part of the ever crapification of products or they are trying to shave weight off. But definitely don't feel as robust as petrol tools.
I am also still pissed that my big top of the rage Makita hammer drill has packed up with not a lot of use. And the parts to fix it are as much as a new one. And I don't think any brand is immune to this now.

First Stihl strimmer was crap but since got the proper big kombi motor that takes rest of my kombi kit. It's a beast more powerful than the 2s imo now.
