Seen the farmer this afternoon they have just over 100 cows 🐄
Unfortunately they don't do raw but I'm not sure the other half would stand for the kids having raw I have to pick my battles. I hope it pays for them to do it. It's a valuable asset to the community. You do get people coming from quite far for it. I think it helps being a jersey herd with high fat content.

Funny I'm going back to butchers and green grocer finally found the latter.
Even he said he can't believe how stuff is going off so quickly these days.
Realised yesterday the grocer supermarket and butchers are all on the same route to so easier shopping

I'd say I big percentage of the up together farms around here now have self serve machines or some kind of farm gate shop.
Ours up the lane is surprisingly busy...he does ice creams and milkshakes which he makes a killing on...and being in the area we are it's very popular with the asians for some reason!
Yeh ours was going to do ice cream and coffee but he said the ice cream machines had a few bugs he was waiting before investing. He does have a syrup machine to do milkshakes. I genuinely hope they make a good living out of it. Unfortunately gets fined for every L he sells from the farm gate due to his muller contract. We also get hordes of pakis using the milk shack. Never clean up after themselves. Post it on tik tok. Pain in the arse.

well it sounds like the Exon Valdez shite slinger/sprayer is back in action -
'least it was :unsure:.... not heard it for two days again and the partially sprayed field is still just that :ROFLMAO:
only smell today is new mown grass ... were still mowing the field outside / beside our lawn at midnight last night
turned it about half two today
38C on the patio at half three
not done a lot today, apart from sit in the shade under a brolly and listen to some favourite tunes, dozing ... when Harper allowed ... 'til I picked up Clara
first words as she came out of school were.... "can we play with the tractor again please grand dad ", which Harper had been asking all day too :ROFLMAO:
so half three 'til half five has been spent baking in the sun :giggle:

plenty of moths and butterflies about with all this heat though ....
but only seen two or three hornets this year :giggle::giggle:

spent a couple of hours yesterday adding some door furniture to a couple of external doors ... my least favourite job .. been putting it off for a looooooong time, but was too hot to do a lot yesterday .. Pam out with some mates so peace and quiet to get on and do them - uninterrupted

wasn't impressed with the quality of the screws, considering these were Chubb
been a while since I've had to wield a chisel

Bought a couple of these the other day ... saw a guy on you tube extolling the virtues of his new $30+ propelling pencil and sheath to keep it in yer pocket, securely
damn me up they popped on Temu .... tenner for two and 200 leads .... have to say I am very pleased with them .. can never keep a point on a pencil (or find one with a decent point to start with) :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

just watched the first ever episode of Grand Designs from '98 .... no hi viz, no Herras, no site signs everywhere, no hard hats, -- jeans, wellies, donkey jackets, -- no nail guns, no plasterboard screws, claw hammers and pockets full of nails - etc., etc., etc.. :giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle:
no one died and built quite a large timber frame in 6 months (with a lot of delays/pauses, caused by the bloody architects managing the job):mad:
good old days :giggle:(y)

and after in an ad break - trailer for 'First Dates' ... absolutely class one liner come back .. twenty somethings - girl says to the guy - " do you have a whats app, / email / number I can contact you on " .... without pausing for breath he looks up from his steak an' chips and says " Don't get ahead of yerself girl " :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I was rocking:ROFLMAO:

trip out Friday lunchtime ...
place I've never been before ...
passed it hundreds of times, but never been in there ...
Panteg Hospital - beautiful old Victorian building in dressed stone ....
the extent of its various extensions and dept.s behind was staggering ... :oops:o_O
mostly post war sectional concrete things and a few more modern buildings
big plot
an interesting hour or so ...

routine DEXA scan ....
had to recite all the Gaucher's issues/causes/etc., to them as they'd never heard of it and wanted to know why I'd been sent ...
not had one in years and no osteoporosis issues (which is high on the Gaucher's side effects list - up there with gall stones :ROFLMAO:)

nicely air conditioned set of portacabins - 30 min.s in the cool ..
was 38C when I got back home here on the patio's thermometer .

equally warm weekend .. not a lot done ....
Pam's sister and hubby most the day Saturday, treatment Sunday a.m. and Simon turned up in the afternoon
not that the temp.s were conducive to doing a lot 😓😓

Surprised Pam Monday morning ....

could not resist this as a card :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
six years since our 'socially distanced' 4 person ceremony in Usk, mid covid
will have been together 27 years in October .. and yeh I know I'd have been out a while ago :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

and spent the afternoon having a wander round Monmouth ...
a.n.other town dying on its feet ...
as many empty shops as occupied almost ..
got flooded a while back and many simply could not afford to sort and re-open

found a nice cool courtyard 'snackery' for a late lunch snack
WP_20260713_14_55_50_Pro.jpg

nice local butcher's bacon sarnie for me and a brownie to finish
WP_20260713_14_16_51_Pro.jpg

and a fancy brie, ham and cranberry sarnie on GF granary for Pam .... rounded off with a 'cream tea'

the cat that got the (clotted) cream grin.
Picked up summat for tea (which we were both too full to eat), later ... so 's gonna get scoffed tonight :giggle::giggle:

terrible night's sleep .. too hot upstairs, even with the fans (one died Friday night - PM revealed the two speed windings had shorted to each other, Saturday morning), so gave up about 3 o'clock and came and crashed on the sofa - cooler downstairs(y)
alarm went off at half six to go to town to take the girls to school ... last time to nursery for Harper - starts school in September - born 5 days too late to have gone this year :(

one for the collective now .... this 'triffid' has appeared in Vicki's garden very rapidly .. can't recall seeing it last week and is pushing 5 feet tall ...
does anyone have any idea WTF it is ????

would like to know ASAP with the kids about, around it :unsure::unsure:

only up side of the heat (apart from it being nice and dry/a decent summer spell) is the grass hasn't needed cutting for a while .... only part of our lawn that doesn't look/feel like a Weetabix is presumably above a soakaway ... can't be the septic's as it's higher than the top of the tank's cover by a few feet, so must be roof water, but ain't had much of that lately:rolleyes::ROFLMAO:

I believe you can get an app for your phone that identifies plants. Point the camera at the plant and it will identify it for you?
