Don't complain - suggest what's better
Finally took her out to work! And in some respect I’m glad I waited for it to dry up - continued on from where I got up to on site drainage earlier in the year , I pulled off site as the ground was pouring in everywhere the deeper we got - no fool anymore so I know when to call it!

First impressions are it’s a powerful machine, very fast and smooth - almost too smooth really, but I’ll adapt to it I’m sure.
Aircon isn’t great, I know it’s been hot but my 13yr old JD is much better and 3 times bigger cab!
The buzzer for hitch/password etc is horribly loud - ear piercing! Will hunt the buzzer down and get some tape on it asap! And I feel the cameras are abit of a fad, screen is too small to really see what’s going on so much, deffo at a glance anyway!

Other than that Its a vast improvement in most aspects over my previous 57c!

Getting the windows covered in UV blocking film will make a big difference to heat gain and help the aircon. This can be fully transparent or have tints if that is what takes your fancy.

Aircon gas might not be set at the right value, i have seen this before with new machines, certainly worth looking at

Fk me im knackered. 40 hour shift.

The missus isn’t feeling too great either, poor lass. Really been through the mill.

Still, at least I now have a genuine reason to buy a remote control scale mining excavator. He can help her dig the veg patch in a few years!

Little one will be choring battery's, cleaning OAPs gutters, block paving and tarmacing in no time at all 🤣

Congratulations Doob! Best work you've ever done, although I hate to know how quickly your forced the grandparents down the cash point to pay for the hire 🤣

Look forward to the christening..... Although I hear the church hasn't actually refitted it's lead roof since your last visit.

So I’ve found a new vent behind the seat.. which swivels and you can aim it at your head… and it’s full power! 🤦‍♂️

Anyway, TAB came in handy today digging out for treatment tank which was over 3m deep.. TAB all the way in allowed me to get closer to the hole to see in and get the bucket at a nice angle for grading the conc out in the bottom.. then fully boom out for lifting was really handy! Benefits are deffo there! Still missing tilty like mad 😣 I’m used to making a 1200grader as small as I want by tilting it etc! Deffo tracking far more to get angles right etc.

Onto the deeper drain runs today.. about as deep as I’d like to go without a box, ground good so happy to proceed with a decent bench.
All done properly, stone base put in to falls prior to putting the pipe in, makes the job 👌🏻
TAB coming in handy again, when it’s got the tilty on the end I’ll be able to fully backfill a 6m pipe from the same position I dug the trench in!

Nice job. What sort of fall do you lay to, and what would you regard as the safe depth?
Calculated tank outlet invert to 200mm up in the ditch and it worked out at 2.6degres (1:38) over a 65meter run. Only upped pipe to a 6” as it will take two buildings treatment tanks and top water - could of got away with a 4” but rather no come back as it’s a fair area with garages and driveways added in too.

Don’t think there is such thing as a ‘safe’ depth.. but 900mm is acceptable , but still hurts if it falls on you! Anything over that and it’s benched/ battered back. I’d normally batter but need tilty for that 😖

Saw a video today of some lads in USA...
Up to his chest in a collapse and another lad trying to shovel ...gave me the Heebie jeebies...

I know a lad with 2 false legs who got caught when he was a teenager years ago spent a few hours in a trench ...when mines rescue got him out they had to amputate. A life of agony since .
Countless ops etc. it's not worth it.

Watched a uk emergency services prog following hart response team, fella was down a good 4m in 2ft wide when bottom of trench went .. took them hours to release him , really lucky to survive it! But a mad man for going down in the first place! Working on the highways so must of had street works etc! Crazy fools!

Now this is just 😖… infact have a look through their feed, some eye opening working methods!

Trouble is we have about five tiers of construction safety in the UK ranging from Tier 1 contractor insanity with zero harm proclamations and pretending to tier 5 DIY scaffold.

Personally I sit on tier 3/2 borderline..... Shed building tends to be tier 4 as with agriculture, with safety very much being the sole preserve of experience rather than systems.

We place too much faith in using boxes in this country and not enough on geotechnical understanding...... Boxes are great in the right ground.
