You know what, what you've said there is the reason I've had cat machines from finnings for many years. I've never once been ignored or never felt valued. Whereas other manufacturers/dealers haven't given the time or effort.

Everyone experiences different from another, hence why some rave and some slate.

Main thing is, if they satisfy you and your dealings then that's the best out come for you and the dealers.
I think a few of the dealers are a bit desperate.
Had one rep pestering me for sales of Stihl saws and wacker plates. I've told him we hire all big plant so won't lead to a sale there.

I'm talking near on 22 years overall experience with them. Even when I've enquired and thought nah, next time they still are on it. Honestly finning have been brilliant. Never pushed always been a proper talk. I known others haven't had the same experience...whether that's ture or not or just their spin.

I don't get many cold calls at all. Most sales reps I know, know if I ring its because I want somthing and its hassle free.
Yesterday I rang my local avant dealer, known him for years, I said I'm after 'x', within the hour he's text me saying sorted come and collect at your leisure....and bare in mind I'd asked him when I was looking to buy my avant but I went elsewhere because that deal suited me better.....so what I'm getting at is the dealer/rep relationship is by far a big part of it, especially when they still pick the phone up even tho they didn't get the last sale off you.

I think you would be hard pushed to build a relationship with them around here. I don't deal very much as said with sales reps for plant but for hire or materials sales the turnover is ridiculous. And I know they all dip in and out of the machinery sales as well.

5 reps at finning over the years.

Couple of long term reps with doosan/avant and jcb. Bobcat also.

Building materials reps and hire reps, not worth the agro...always ends in confrontation or disappointment.

So do I. :ROFLMAO:

In all honesty, something I'm very, very impressed with is the dealer and Sany's attitude to pushing the deal across the line for a very low value/income/margin product. Very refreshing from someone who has always struggled to get dealers' attention at shows and more often than not have found looking at things an absolute waste of my time.

I just hope Sany's commitment to the UK stays strong.... I like the dealer and if the digger is good I'll gladly have another.... we will soon see!

Oh Sany are very committed to the UK and the world, there's no way they are going anywhere if you saw the scale of the thing, 3rd largest manufacturer of construction equipment worldwide... It isnt a Kato etc. They are also number 6 or 7 in volume in the UK With desires as you could imagine.

The boys near you are great guys, I spent some time with them in China.

I'd send the twats at C@T some pix of your new Hitachi and tell them it could just have easily been a C@T if they weren't such w⚓s to deal with .... and a copy to the head of the well in the UK ;)

improving weekly'd be my guess
Yeah the dealer was saying the other day. Anything they think worth upgrading/changing it's literally stop production, revise and update and continue production. I reckon Sany are definitely something to watch- for the 26c I tried it was really mainly just small things that let it down- things that would be very easy to change

Good in some ways but could quite possibly end up like British Leyland cars when you try to decipher exactly what part you are meant to have

So we had a customer with a SY50 and he complained his tracking speed was a bit slow, spoke to Sany and they apparently slowed them down a while ago as they were then to fast? Anyway, within 15 mins they sent us a custom file map to upload to the machine, went to site 5 mins and boom, tracking speed resolved.

I don't know many manufacturers that would do that, especially the big ones. Customer was chuffed

Re Sany, one was bought by Cartwright's recycling near me (fellow member Craig delivered it) have put feelers out as to its reliability but nothing back yet. I am told a local guy bought a Chinese 7t but very quickly went back to JCB -trying to find out more off a fitter he sometimes uses. I would try to find out if Sany uses western / Japanese major components (pumps, spools, drive motors) or their own generic stuff
Think Sany said to be of the better Chinese makers? French maker & importer Pelle HHO were offering a full 2 yr guarantee on their own stuff but a 6 month 'workshop time only' guarantee on the imported stuff (your guarantee for the parts were with Chinese maker) French Govt stepped in & forced them to back the imports for 2 yrs. They seem to say import ultra cheap for project but their own stuff will stand many years use (all European parts)

Unused 2025 Sany 35s made 17k at Euro auctions today.
Sounds about right in my book.

I'd also say someone will have a bargain if they stand up. However as they are sold via auction I suspect they have no warranty.

I am under no doubt the SY18C is a 10k digger out of a dealers yard.

However a S/H 2023 TB219 with 100hrs has been offered to me at 20.5k...... that has dropped 4k off the discounted rate. (They where 27k from memory in 2023) I suspect actually the drop off for the Sany in a similar period will actually hit about the same number 🤔
