What is the solution though.
Back in the day it would have been survival of the fittest, nowadays everyone survives.
Cut welfare massively so it gets back to something resembling survival of the fittest. No more overweight unemployed. You want unemployed people to be half starving and needing work. This would also have the benefit of dissuading all these economic "asylum seekers". Unfortunately even this labour govt with their majority couldn't do anything with welfare or 2 child benefit cap. So we have to wait for a government that can do it or a market reckoning that forces their hand. I think doob is onto something with fiat money being a con. They never deal with anything properly just print more dough.

Went to a meeting at the council yesterday. Ive got a petition going for some local bike jumps for the kids. We lost a world class bmx track the other year because it was built ontop of landfill and methane levels got too high. Bulldozed and never replaced. Anyway apparently the councils main priority with funding atm is housing rough sleepers. Ffs we are not even part of the city our district is all county. I think the council have recently been buying up offices and coverting to hmo. Then because the incentive is here for the rough sleepers they will migrate from the city to get free lodgings. 🤦‍♂️

As much as we love to moan about kids these days ..it's all starts a long way before that.
If we train/allow them to be be like that ...can hardly blame em?

My 14 year can operate a machine and handle any tools pretty competently ..he won't have his own phone till he's at least 16.
Bring em up like you want them to act and there's half a chance.
We grew up with an estwing and sawdust as toys no telly in the house.
Kids are a product of their up bringing usually.

My two Pennyworth . After some inebriation
Most of the kids that are hopeless have hopeless parents and grandparents. Very hard to break that cycle.

Too many out there just having kids to get more benefits, this just exacerbates the issue.
is it possible to cut back the benefits for parents of multiple children but then somehow have a daycare like setup that makes sure any kids they do have are properly fed, washed and clothed. At the end of the day the kids shouldn’t suffer for the parents decisions.

Still incentivises the parents to have them though. Apples dont fall far from the tree.

I work with quite a few people who come into the categories we are talking about and I don't think the benefits are actually as great as we think, they would definitely be better off without having had kids in there teens. It seems they just don't care and can't use contraception. They think I am insane and unmanly because 6weeks after my second child was bourne I had the snip.
However they get all funny that I'm in a better financial position than them. Despite the fact I bought my house whilst being on the tools and not paid particularly well. I just did huge amounts of overtime and night shifts.

I suppose it's the living wage issue again, if people are working why do they also get benefits. But if you put the wages up it just makes everything more expensive again. Shame and suffering for bad or poor life choices looks to be the way forward 😞

There are a lot of people who are financially illiterate, but worse who are jealous of people who have achieved any financial success and feel they are entitled to the same without putting in the same effort or making the same sacrifices.

Oh the flip side, there are plenty of folks who have benefited from luck / good upbringing / accidental good health / generational wealth / nepotism or just being born at a better time who assume that anyone else with LESS than them is down to the other persons poor judgment rather than their own good fortune.

I am not wealthy by any standard, but I have benefited from all of the above which is just luck really. Hopefully I can help pass it on.

We don’t all get equal opportunities. Sure some start with nothing and make it , and some start with everything and lose it , but your best chance on average to do well in this life is to be born at the right time / place and to the right people.

Some of that is luck but it could also be argued that some of that is previous generations in your family working hard to give their offspring better opportunities.

And tbh I wasn't talking about being wealthy. I am very far from wealthy. I am employed and have a decent job I have worked hard to get. But mostly the people that I have worked with and do work with have made sh*t decisions.
Condoms are literally free for teen-agers and people in their early 20's. Spending 20 quid every day in the shop for lunch is a choice. As is buying designer clothes.
My parents divorced when I was young and whilst my dad did alright I lived with my mum who was constantly in debt and made terrible financial decisions. I made a conscious decision that I didn't want to be like that.

We knock the Chinese …. But they definitely had / have a stronger stance on this 🤦‍♀️. And look where they are now compared to us 🙄
I think the Chinese situation was not based on stupidity. It was more to do with no breeding until we have sufficient food for feeding. They are a ticking time bomb of an aging population that is still brain washed into one is plenty. Whatever Trump is doing to us over the price of oil. The largest user of food fertilizer per capita is going to hurt a lot more…….that would be China!!

Exactly! We are in control of our circumstances however shite they are !
Responsibility is a word that seems to have vanished from life these days.
Dad worked until he dropped literally and did all his life hence my kids have seen that as did I.
We seem so obsessed in catering for every weird whim and situation that we've missed the point of earning a coin.
Selfishness is at the forefront sadly and evident in everyday life now like I never remember.
I'm not minimising genuine health conditions I had a bit of the black dog myself lately but even then it hit me I was responsible to do something about it and get help and pick my ass up and sort my life out.

Watching the spitfire fly over today a few times made me really ponder life back then.
544 lads with average age of 20 killed in the battle of Britain alone with a life expectancy of 4 weeks and yet lads were queueing up to enroll.
Would that happen now ...I'd love to think so but I have my doubts . Those lads would be turning in their watery grave at the way we've let things go I fear.

voucher system for the necessary funds covered by child benefits, usable only on and solely for the purposes intended, not beer, fags or new phone
