Filled up just as they upped the price… luckily I still got it at 181p…

That’s 150 ex vat. A week ago I was being quoted 160 plus vat for a delivery. blatant profiteering.

Some interesting views about from industry experts....one claims this is at least 6-12 month issue even if the straits opened today!
On the other hand the plethora of electric options and alternatives may actually be in our favour dare I say it....it seems to be hammering the south east Asian countries harder.
Bowser sales must be off the charts I reckon.

There’s still no substitute for diesel for construction or haulage in this country.

There is no actual reason to swap. That is why the government feel the need to penalise us into submission.
If it worked industry would swap unencouraged.
They didn't need to penalise the horse to promote the steam engine. And if it was really about being green then why are we still not investing in public transport. Or reinstating the rail network for cargo

Hear hear...couldn't agree more. Said that all the time...we choose cordless power tools because they work not because some snake oil salesman has convinced half the western world they'll die if they don't be vegan or buy a Tesla.
I meant more in the general public way of life...city sheep etc
You know my opinion of it for "our stuff" ☺️

Exactly, as soon as it is more profitable to run electric all the big businesses will swap over. Until that point they are having to bribe and bully people to act against their self interest.
There will always be those who want to hang on to ICE for sentimental reasons, but why shouldn't it be their choice?

Not just sentimental reasons but I think there is a fair probability that unless they vastly improve energy density of batteries and reduce charge times significantly. Then there will be a need for internal combustion.
Plus the minerals required for the batteries are really not great for the environment and aren't available in infinite quantities

There's actually quite a few trucks locally run on hydrogen, there's a couple sites with the plant to produce the hydrogen. They only have a limited range and have to be recovered quite often but it ticks the box for the customer for being seen to be green

We just got notification that Helen's new EV has arrived at the dealer and we can pick it up next Thursday! Can't wait to get rid of our ICE car, and we will be an all EV household.

I’m going to phone them tomorrow, company is Motia . It’s 15-20p dearer per litre than local pump price . That’s got to be profiteering . Ive been filling my van on bank card but employee uses fuel card til I can get him a bank card .
I need an alternative supplier
