do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
What do you mean?
as you say - std hook and maybe 10 links of chain to drop into the binders grab hook, instead of replacing the grab with a std hook - best of both worlds/cover various eventualities ... and quick

I have similar, a hook with short length of chain, sometimes I hook the binder directly onto the side rail of the deck, then use the short chain onto the machine eye, not ideal but needs must sometimes.

Just unloading artic now and thought I’d post the current chain setup. Holding a 3 ton dumper. Cross chained front and rear. Using binder to side rail and short length of chain with grab hooks. You can see a self locking hook on the bed attached to longer chains that I use for loadalls and other machines with holes for chaining down.

No suprises really but maybe avoid stuff that could modify your anatomy swiftly and without warning...
Will see what they are like when they arrive.. if they are pisspoor they’ll be going back! Got plenty of chains and another set of binders to compare them against!
Looking at the list they are all electronic items which are no good.

So all arrived, look good but imperial sizes so can’t fit metric 10mm bits on the end and nothing is CE marked so I’m going to send them back and not be tight arse and just buy from somewhere reputable!

Don't know if this lad was reading this thread or not, but seams like what your looking for.

That popped up on my Facebook the other day, handy idea. No need for that as grab hooks go onto my trailer bed. I’m just doing one end of the chain grab hook and another a clevis.
