Yehh it is impressive, but it’ll be a case of looking at it “before” rather than “after”, too ruined to do anything after that, never mind sight seeing!!😱...... that’s going to be some place then, but was told to keep me hands in my pockets cos they do know how to charge in there!

I've always found the other Trago places to be cheap TBH ....... some stuff there yesterday was good .... some on a par with elsewhere. ... and some was bloody cheap:oops: ..... there's a Dickies factory outlet about 10 miles away in Ebbwvale Festival Park --- the remnants of the garden festival site, that they should never have been allowed to tear apart  .... and Trago are half the price of Dickies' outlet shop, on their hi-viz long, quilted waterproof coats:rolleyes: ..... as in all these places . you need to know 'the market' and what stuff can be had for, elsewhere .... their Dickies boots were half price too ;) ... but haven't rated them for a long time ..... not what they were .. come apart, far too easily :(

well we had some bloody rain yesterday  ... left an empty cup out .... a good 60mm in it this morning  .... wild winds with it too .. bits of tree and bloody acorns everywhere

WP_20180921_09_28_50_Pro.jpg

been 'shopping' down me mates place ..... :giggle:

WP_20180921_15_01_48_Pro.jpg

been instructed to 'produce' a fire guard, similar to what I had to create, to keep young Clara away from our Morso, for Josh's little un, Shem who's one very soon and becoming more mobile by the day. With 'hot box' season coming on  he needs to be kept at a distance from their wood guzzler.

so after unloading me 'spoils' I plugged the band saw in and wound up the genny, as I had a couple of other items to lop up too whilst I was at it .....

apologies for the lousy, flared image
WP_20180921_16_29_55_Pro.jpg

an hour later ..

WP_20180921_17_16_03_Pro.jpg

one fireguard kit :giggle:

also gave it a try on summat a little larger to see what it was like for square ....... pretty good, so .........

WP_20180921_17_17_51_Pro.jpg

knocked the genny off and set the bandsaw up for mitre-ing some box section ... got a 25' length sat in it and all set to go ...... pushed the go button on the genny and ........ nada :( ...... other than this warning light o_O ..... WTF are "delayed inputs" and who told 'em to be active ?? weren't me :(

WP_20180921_18_06_28_Pro edit.JPG

So .... phone call to me mate the genny man ... a few tricks tried and still ...... Nada!! ....
there are far too many fancy lectrikery gizmos in't control box :( ...... I am never going to need a modem to communicate with it o_O .... and that is my best guess as to a culprit, ATM ..... we'll see tomorrow, ..... Serge is coming over for a shufty .... if it doesn't piss down, as forecast:mad: .... or it starts, if it doesn't rain

ran sweet as a nut for an hour or more and started first flick :confused::unsure:
so that was the end of my metal lopping for today ..... but was gone six by the time i'd finished faffing about and scratching my head  looking for anything obvious in the panel :(
damned annoying as I'd have had it all lopped by then  ..... fire guard, a couple of gates, I have been incessantly nagged about for a looooooong time and a bag lifter for me firewood man (y)

We had an nice ole genny that used to purr away nicely until one day she stopped and wouldn't start again, after a bit of investigating it turned out to be the oil switch. We duly linked it out and cracked on with the job at hand. Of course by the end of the day it wasn't purring like she used to. Turns out she was actually low on oil 😮. Oops. You'd think there'd be a warning 😁

Aye much the same here Graham we went from a baking hot summer to cold and rainy and muddy in just a couple weeks, some places near here it snowed quite a bit. No such thing as global warming or climate change here. And our scam artist government wants us to pay a 'carbon tax' in the new year. I think a revolt is in order!

We've had a pretty good summer(y) .... for us, at least, sort of summer we used to get 45-50 years ago... a proper season .... so when it has turned to sh1t it's even more depressing :(:(..... wasn't as if we didn't deserve a decent summer after the 18 month winter we had ! .... as for global warming ..
it changes from one month to the next, depending on what sort of weather pattern they're trying to 'explain' away with it.
As you say ... a major Gov. scam to rip us all off for yet more of our hard earned, in the name of supposed science, which most scientists now de-bunk, on the whole.

No question, we as a species have an impact on our 'pretty blue planet', but we've only been here for the tiniest 'blink' of an eye, in time .... the planet's been changing incessantly, ever since it coalesced from space debris. .................. and will continue to do so long after we have vanished from its face

Hmm ..... that was a long 45 minutes  ..... jumps about a bit don't he  ...... the shear numbers of the scientific community who de-bunk/disagree with the whole BS scam will one day be heard  ..... but for now one has to read it where you can .... the media aren't going to give them credence any time soon ..... too risky

OK .... bit more twaddle and a bit of dabbling .... when the rain eventually ceased dropping out the sky, 'bout 12 today, I went and eyeballed yon genny again ...... sod all obvious in the way of re-sets, so re-introduced the battery to the system, with the isolator and up comes said "delayed inputs active" orange light .... bearing in mind that up until Friday, I'd never seen it lit before.
turned the key to manual and pressed the go button ............. and away it went :unsure:??:) ....... AND said light turned green o_O after about 20 seconds of running :censored::unsure: ..... WTF??

WP_20180923_12_55_33_Pro.jpg

So blessed with 3ph again, :giggle: .. I got a lead out, plugged in the band saw and cut up a pair of gate frames (y)

WP_20180923_12_25_23_Pro.jpg WP_20180923_14_16_45_Pro.jpg
then plugged in me belt grinder and sorted all the shaping up on the fire guard kit, sharpened up a few chisels and re-ended a few bars and drifts that were in need re-shaping , before turning yon genny back off.

Probably ran it as long as I had the other day, when it refused to re-start. ..... Started sweet as a nut again ...... and again 10 minutes later, with said light doing the same sequence each time.:confused:

I need to get some better info. on the 'nuances' of this old girl

Anyway ...... with the big yeller thing in the sky co-operating, thought I'd get said fire guard assembled

started with the end panels/returns first
WP_20180923_15_06_07_Pro.jpg framed up, infilled WP_20180923_16_04_02_Pro.jpg and consolidated WP_20180923_16_14_18_Pro.jpg

followed by the main centre run

WP_20180923_17_00_12_Pro.jpg bloody weather had to have a go, just to remind me how fickle it can be  WP_20180923_17_38_39_Pro.jpg but didn't last long (y)

the off-stand / distance from the 'hot-box' isn't huge, if I'm reading Josh's dimensioned photos right  .... certainly not enough to stop a one year old from reaching it, so the central area had to have some Shem-proofing, with reduced bar spacings being favored over meshing it.:cautious: ..... hence the gaps reducing by 50%, in't middle section.

got the ends onto it .....(y)

WP_20180923_17_44_05_Pro.jpg

and then spent the rest of the afternoon consolidating it all ;):) WP_20180923_17_57_19_Pro.jpg ...... and now I've run out of piccys again @Regy53 ???:(

Aye I've heard some of these Environmental Extremists as I prefer calling them try to compare us to Holocaust Deniers. Yeah he does jump around but I think that's kinda typical with some university lecture types. I listened to a couple of his other lectures and what he says is more than common sense the whole climate change is like a fad like wearing skinny jeans. lol I found one particular point quite interesting though as he mentioned in the late 90's people were getting fed up that this global warming thing wasn't happening so the powers that be changed it to 'climate change' and now they keep talking about the build up of 'carbon'.....hmmm the sky only turns black at one time of day as it has since the beginning of time.:p
