Trailer is a write off. Bent the wheel which dented the chassis. NFU paid the trailer claim in 10 days. Now to sort the balance out from the third party!!
Fair hit, did the towing vehicle suffer any damage, did they pay out for all of the trailer cost or was it short a fair bit

Fortunately they missed the old Disco so just the trailer. NFU have a standard £1000 trailer cover in the trailer is not insured separately. Plenty of 2.7ton trailers secondhand for around that money but 3.5ton are usually more. Lost a days hire sorting out a hire trailer and cost of hire trailer will mean I will be looking for another £1000 plus. No one hurt is the main thing. Hopefully the young lad has learnt a lesson about our little lanes. This was in a place where we have Horse Livery yards short distance from point of impact. Sunday afternoon. I had all ready pasted several riders, within a minute there was a queue of them waiting and in the short drive back I pasted several more. He lives in student accommodation on one of the farms doing livery. That point seemed to be lost on him!

same round here......drive like it's one way traffic  surprised they didn't try it on with knock for knock in a lane.
Always pays to start a claim off with " when the on coming vehicle struck me I was stationary, with the handbrake applied " .... no wriggle room on that one :giggle::rolleyes:;)

The other photo with point of impact was sent to NFU and they said they would not settle on a knock for knock basis. He hit me and bounced over the rest of the trailer wheels sticking out. If I hit him it would have dragged his car into the trailer. See how long it takes!!

Love this forum, as well as great banter and info it acts like a neighbourhood watch😂
never would have thought to check out the car details......

Wee car like that, at that age is probably a write off as well though, doesn’t take much eh

Wonder if that was a CPCS approved method of crossing an excavation? 😂
