Senior leaders on the project from the Department for Transport (DfT) and the delivery body itself were subjected to a grilling by the public accounts committee yesterday over the scheme’s rising costs "

more HS2 bull sh!t ... " In October transport secretary Louise Haigh said: “ It has long been clear that the costs of HS2 have been allowed to spiral out of control, but since becoming transport secretary I have seen up close the scale of failure in project delivery – and it’s dire.” "

That’s a monster. Do you really need that much power? It’s unlikely to be much cop for bodywork etc.
No probably not. Going to maybe look at fixing the old 1 again. I've had lot of time off last few months so reluctant to spend a grand on a new 1 at the moment

The issues all arise out of a particular bridge specification and related sub-optimal choices of welding procedures, exacerbated by limitations in the specified weld testing regime for these projects. The programme of testing and remedial work to resolve the issue is progressing as expected.”

In other words we fked up with cheap labour etc and are now bodging our way out.

" A total of £40.5bn has been spent so far to deliver HS2, according to the Department for Transport’s latest update to parliament.
The spiralling cost of the scheme has been the subject of public outcry and scrutiny, complicated by the way in which costs have been quoted by the government. "

" HS2 tells contractors ‘unethical behaviour won’t be tolerated’ as Bam stops working with Danny Sullivan on several jobs "
