Is the backhoe loader a thing of the past?

Pffftttttt....cat still the best backhoe loader in my eyes.

Mind I've been invited to cat things over the years but never a jcb one.
The thing is with JCB they do not like to hear the truth, sugarcoat everything and they’ll love you forever! I gave feedback once which wasn’t to their liking…
so remember @Gunners a$$lixk like your life depends on it! 😂😝

If backhoes are a thing of the past, here's some from their heyday.
I love a classic machine, but having a quick play with a very nicely restored example, makes me realise that its only nostalgia that makes me think machines were better back then. If I've got to go to work, the latest models with their creature comforts and ease of use are hard to turn away.
But I would love to have this grey cab in my collection just to admire - its still a great looking machine
You’re absolutely right, lovely to see them but 10 hour shifts a bit different. My first machine was a well used grey cab and I loved it,I also bought an old 3c2 a few years back when my machine was a p8,could only stick using it for a couple of hours.Mine over the years,Had a 14 plate but it did’nt even warrant a picture, pile of c##p!

Also @Gunners you have to replace the back end hoses every 2k hours.. all 8 of them! Hope they gave you some in the goody bag 😉
Hmm, shes done 2370hrs so you're obviously right. I thought it was a 10yo thing, had a couple of seat hoses go recently, and the ones to the front shovel off the loader arms (although at £25 each they wernt too bad!)
Just having a spate of hoses going almost every time I use it at the moment, bit demoralising and not great for production or profits:(

Thinking about it, do all the ones from the block to the otherside of the bulkhead plate too, they are the worst when they go! Just get them from jcb so they can fit right on! I learnt the hard way with a lot of downtime!

I preferred the black cabs. Personally I think the grey cabs were a step backwards. Less room to spin the seat, less feel in the levers.
