something very wrong with the rigging on that .. could only end one way with that level of lateral loading -- monster set of ballast weights on that too

Be interesting to see a destructive test on line 1 and 2. Surely if both the u and socket are rounded correctly it's not hugely different?

the clamp is always parallel - never shaped, other than some have 'ply guides' in bigger sizes .... the U bolt bites into the free end cable to prevent slippage through it
