Persimmion have been buying other developers for years. They build under Charles Church, and Westbury partnerships too and have been reportedly trying to buy the firm I used to work for, Cala Homes off Legal and General.
And now as stated, Barratt own Redrow...

They all own each other! Apart from Bloor who to be fair to him has kept his stake in the firm right from the beginning and hasn't sold out yet. Richest man in construction apparently. Rory must be close behind him when he weighs in all that scrap in the hedgerow at his place. :LOL:

Bloor started out as plasters labourer too didn't he? Must be something in the water round near our way. Him, david wilson.

The fire industry is absolutely insane since grenfell. I've been subbing to firms last few years doing doors. It's a licebse to print money for the firms doing it. Around 10 or 15k to get certified but you need a guaranteed client to make it worth it. Honestly I don't know how universities and accommodation providers will keep making it pay. I reckon a new door set must run the end buyer at around 2k plus vat nowadays. Remediation must be getting on for over 300. They do fra checks every 6 months on some buildings. Your back messing around with the same doors every 6 months changing hinges seals etc. I've weighed in loads of stainless steel hinges over the last few years.

Some of the doors I've seen hung over the years are beyond shocking. In Bristol years ago was a good job but about 12 identical student accommodation blocks. It took a few days to realise which was which so they were going through "carpenters" like no tomorrow.
1 had eased a door with a jigsaw. There were 25mm stops on the lining and it had undercut so you could see past the stops!
So very hit and miss we did around 2000 doors about 8 years ago the client wouldn't pay to remove the old frames in the hi rise blocks as there was asbestos behind the jambs. It meant that you could not comply with the fitting as per the door manufacturer instructions.

Boils my piss. Having a safe warm dry house with hot water is pretty much a basic human right and important. Air travel is nothing but a luxury. Tax heating. Tax Cars... But fund more cheap travel and air pollution. f****ng ridiculous. Pretty much no one NEEDS to fly anywhere.

No one really needs beer but it would be shitty without it! 😂

They are both nothing by comparison to LAX or JFK.. bonkers places!! Folk will moan all they like but it will happen oneday!
