The plan to solve that problem is to fly a cheep drone in and land it near where the robot machine will be working to have a video feed back to the robot control point. Depending upon terrain a radio controlled model car or something with tracks might also work to carry the cameras.

The work the robot machine is going to be doing is likely going to need more than one angle of view to be able to work it properly.

There were some ex bomb disposal squad robots in one of the military auctions this year wasn’t there, they’d have been handy for this task.

Can you mount cameras on the brokk and then use DJI etc fpv googles with that off the shelf technology for camera view?

Sheffield to weobly doesn’t swing by you lol plus 8 month old and 2.8 year old means what used to be a 3 hour journey is now a 6-7 hour journey and we have to go in wife’s quashqi as I can’t get two kids seats in my pickup and get my seat further enough back to drive it lol. So have to squeeze my self in hers to drive us down lol.

Was a flyer really to do present swap and see the girls 96 yr old great grandad old boy farmer.
Ah - one day you'll feel compelled to make the detour for the 'pilgrimage' :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

The bomb disposal ,robots are actually quite fragile. The gearboxes in the transmission wear badly if used regularly.

I have thought about cameras on the Brokk but will have a problem with dust clouds directly behind the tool during some activities. This machine is intended to have several roles.

My today job is rather mild and not really plant related . Couple of hours spent in the office with 2 of my team sorting out some routine plumbing and heating issues, then rest of day in the old chicken shed (my work HQ) with my youngest daughter working on her Berlingo camper van project. She is the more adventurous of the 2 and loves travel. Bought her a 13 plate L2 Berlingo 18 months ago after a years safe driving and she loves it. Windows/insulation/floor/skylight/ sofa bed all done. Need to help her with the Chinese Diesel heater I bought her for Xmas and then it’s time for the electrics.
Nice little van, if you are careful it will do over 60mpg and almost impossible to get below 50mpg. Might buy one for a work pool van one day.
Very happy to have a 19 year old kid that wants to do something practical and likes converting a van and travelling. My older daughter (24) runs her own online business and makes clothing so also practical. Sadly for me, neither one wants to follow in my footsteps as a plumbing/heating engineer nor even take up the family farming business :-/
My younger sister is likely to the last in the line of a 400 year (plus) farming lineage on this branch of the family tree.
Same as my wife, 100s of years of farming in her family and now no-one left farming apart from her 78 year old mother still looking after her 50 acres.

Times are a changing

Perhaps I am a tad reflective at the end of yet another year. My 45th New Year’s Eve and more than likely to be well over the half way point of my personal journey on this planet ! I have few complaints but certainly progression and the associated change become less welcome as the years go by. I am glad to be one of the very las t of the Generation X , and I think the Boomers before me probably had the best of the deal TBH.

I started out working on the land, as had about ten or more generations before me. It was a bit hard when my lad wasn’t a bit interested to realise that’s it with the family connection. He’s probably got the right idea the way things are now, no one is getting rich working on someone else’s farm. That’s why I went on to plant.

I would imagine a lot of us on here are in a similar position, My grandfather, dad and both his brothers all had lifelong careers running their own businesses in construction,I am the last,I have 3 kids with no interest in it .It is a little sad if you dwell on it but does’nt really matter in the overall scheme of things, personally the only real issue is that I do find as I get older my ambition certainly diminishes and I tend to look at sideways “options” rather than longer term expansion because there’s a finite lifespan to the business. But on the plus side I can pretty much do what I think I will enjoy rather than worrying about it too much.

last of my line ..... no one to pass on to, so always planned to do as I did - just not as soon, or in the way I ended up having to  ... sad though, having spent my life building it :(

First day of acouple of days maintainance before start on monday - swopped cutting edge round on grader, I get that it's probably nicer to use without the bolts but nice to save the bucket all the same :)
1000011792.jpg
slight electrical gremlin reared its head just before xmas break, alarm goes off saying bucket not locked when it actually is, no biggie because I can just unplug alarm(courtesy of ss9 I guess) and it works as normal
1000011595.jpg
but like to have it right and posted on tilty page on faceache to see if it was easy fix and engcon rep rang me that afternoon ! Said get firm who fitted it out to fix it and it's under warranty, can't fault that service, so will give them a shout next week.
2nd day at yard tomorrow continue to snag a few bits, bulb or two to change on hookloader ready for test, filters to change on wacker, fan belt to tighten on 1.7t Kub

My sort of workshop jobs , ie nothing too challenging :)

Then off we go again 💪

If it is what I think the fault is, simple adjustment of the sensor.
