Beyond the topsoil heap is quite a large area……that is going to become an overgrown mess as a wildlife area!!good size plot
I've seen worseA bit of space. Would have had a little more but the tenants wanted more off road parking.
Yeah. But quite honestly don't know why they don't just whack more flats up to meet housing requirement (if there is one) as someone said above most aren't bothered about out door space anyway and hopefully that way we'd actually save having to concrete over the countryside quite as much. Other half is from Sweden- far more of a culture of living in flats and having a larger community space/Green space/parks etc in towns. Admittedly alot of them also have country houses but 90% of the time they are in their flats.I've seen worse![]()
The last 4 weeks have saved me!! Another pair of footings to be dug next week and then I should be able to relax. Drainage in the wet is doable. Foundations not so!!It’s amazing how dry everything is for November! Could be photos from mid June @TiltyShaun![]()
that's annoyingToday has been about prepping the floor.
I think it was @V8Druid that had shown some pics of a trailer floor he painted when he was doing a floor replacement. So new floor prices cut to size and given the fist coat of bitumen paint.
Apparently I forgot to take a pic after I painted them. There is an example of measure once cut twice!!
I'd bang an LED number plate light (or two) on there Shaun ... those festoon bulbs just DO NOT last or corrode so quickly they never work much more than a monthWhilst the paint was drying I wired in some new trailer side markers.
Pretty impressed with the LED’s.
And also repaired the wiring to the old number plate light.
didn't know Ikea did flat pack trailer floorsWell this is a “what did you buy today” and “today’s job” all thrown in.
Yesterday was remove all the metal plates that have been sat in the trailer and take out the rotten floor.
make sure you do the edges well too Shaun ... mine got 3 coats underneath and edges -- 3 coats of ali primer on top -- bitu gets messy with the sun on it (when we ever see it)Today has been about prepping the floor.

I think the last one failed as much down to abuse but I didn’t seal the edges very well. The edges have been well and truly sealed this time with the bitumen paint. Will give it another coat on Boxing Day.didn't know Ikea did flat pack trailer floors

I'd waxoil or thick grease/ep90 mix coat it 'fore banging the ali down - repel water out from between, or it'll capillary and rot the boards quick with trapped moistureI think the last one failed as much down to abuse but I didn’t seal the edges very well. I have some metal sheets and chequer plate to go on the top side!!
Have you seen the price of keruing recently... had a price of nearly 1300 Inc vat for what I need to replace the floor on the iveco beaver. Fortunately I had success on fb marketplace...n my mate fetched it back for me which was a big time saver too...just got to gain enthusiasm to actually do the job now.didn't know Ikea did flat pack trailer floors

I was getting silly prices all over. Somthing like £333 for a 4m length.was always dear, but that is silly ..... admittedly soooome time ago, but did the bed of my little 7.5 tonner (roughly 21ft x 7' 6") for 500 quid
Was that new or used timber?I was getting silly prices all over. Somthing like £333 for a 4m length.
Bagged enough to do the truck twice over for £375 and my mate wanted 150 to pick it up. Needless to say I was happy all round. Once I've done it I'll probably sell the rest on.
