Been asked to site this while on site doing other work - low and long and roughish route to where it's getting sited.
Ball on blade of 6tonner ? It's on a 3.5 trailer and the cutlery draw is full !
You will piss it with a 6 ton. I'd do that with a 1.9t if it was all I had to hand.

I did a 6 ton living wagon, on a dolly, slightly uphill with my E27.

Yep I know the 6t will boss it ..but ball needs to be able to go up and down to allow for undulating ground - don't fancy drilling blade for a one off job ...what setup did you use ?

Just drill it, it's always useful and doesn't affect the blade at all whilst not fitted. I have my ball at the top on all the minis but you'd have to see about the range of hitch heights a 6 ton blade gives you.

presumably you plug that into an outlet, when the power goes down ? (and turn off the main breaker?) little genny'd get 'excited' if you forgot and the supply returned :ROFLMAO:
This not so little genny got very unexcited a few months ago because some **** failed to wire up a change over switch correctly so the temporary supply connection was 'giving not receiving '🤬😢😯
Luckily fuses in the generator did there job, otherwise someone would have got a big bill!

I've moved quite alot of things like that around with a short strop choking the drawbar and take bucket off just use the eye in the quick hitch. Easy enough just make sure the strop isnt too long or you'll end up with the quick hitch through the headboard of the van!

Ball on blade would be better obvs though especially if you need to push it in to position

Yes, That's exactly the setup except there is a line-socket in the meter box. No changover or other protection. Just open the main isolator, plug in the cable and start the gen.

They often fit isolators after the meter now especially after smart meter installs. Makes life a doddle.

Of course a pair of sidecutters and snip the tags and whip main dno fuse out and bobs yer uncle. That's all leccy board do on remote places after big storms until overhead gets hooked up. "Sorry mate dunno why the tags are cut"

Hadent really thought about it, but yes, the isolator is downstream of the meter (the power co owns the meter).

These are easy to come by.
The control is motorised, so when the mains come back on, it switches back and (can) turn off the gen.

I meant standard sp isolators but you mean generator switchovers. Which have 3 positions. Auto changeovers are very neat but can be a pita if nor setup right.
I'd deffo fit a changeover switch in a new build if I had the option . If nothing else being able to isolate everything before the board is v handy

A simple switch is what is fitted, but the change over would be more elegent. Turning off the gen when power is resored is a very nice touch.

Might see if I can squeeze a 100a changeover in the meter box. Then a 16 or 32amp blue surface mounted plug. Need to check the earthing requirements though as outside my area of expertise

Might just go in...shift that isolator to left and sneak it in next to it .
But 32a might be a bit small depending on size of your Genny etc
Yeah get a sparky to check whole thing obviously 👍🏻

I moved our 40ft static caravan with a ball mounted on a plate under the tilty… shook the caravan loads and wasn’t the smoothest…. Ball on the tractor linkage was much better when I was done with it.. didn’t need to move it up/down and it went over afew reasonable ramps/humps etc

would only want to fire up the 5amp boiler circuit and fridge freezer on a suitcase job. 16amp would cope with that I think.

Yeah I have a spare headstock and thought of cobbling something up but I guess blade would give me better control - it's very low thing( like a caravan I suppose) and drawbar coming up a bit will mean it's dragging it's backside.
I have a ball on 3t dumper but it's already too high without some fabbing, and then no control.

got a narrowish bucket with a centre tooth? whip the tooth off and make an adapter to bolt in its place with a bit of flat plate/bar and fit one of these to t'other end of the plate/bar
