Loading and moving tarmac on a long running contract and a bit of tidying up on the woods this week .Todays job,sat on my backside trying to let the flare up of an old ankle injury ease off enough to get back on it next week🤨
Used to love loading tarmac like that especially in a cold day , nice steady job 👌🏻

After 16 years I've finally had enough of the poxy step in the doorway of my shed.
So I borrowed my mates 215 with a breaker, only the second time I've ever needed one!
Steady hour or 2 had an 8ft section out, ready to concrete Monday morning.
Absolutely belted down when I started, not a bad thing really as there was very little dust, then the sun came out just in time for loading back up👌
I've driven the 215 occasionally since it was on 500hrs, now approaching 1800 and it's still feeling tight and fresh, especially for a hire machine 👍👍
Need the sun to stay out tomorrow, got a mate booked in to help me with all sorts of odds and sods round the place

Had a delivery of ballast etc to the yard this morning ready for the concreting I dug out for over the weekend but it was so grey and miserable I just could not be arsed😕
Plus I had a couple of little errands to run that broke up the morning so I've just done bits and bobs. And had a cafe breakfast 😆
One of the little jobs was to try out the M12 die grinder, what a little weapon! Shredded wheat discs make light work of paint and rust with a bit of care👍👍

Went to the housing site for the ten units. Small lake at the back of the plots so decided to do some running around.
New battery for roller.
New hydraulic pipe and fittings for the Kubota as had a hydraulic leak on Friday.
2 new tyres for the front of the van. Mot due on a couple of weeks.
Then the alternator belt tensioner seized on the van. Trying to limp it back to the garage. Was doing fine until held up at a set of lights. Decided to pull up in a small lane to allow it to cool and check the water. Turning around this happened!!
Pulled out by a local friendly farmer.
Day of nothing earned and plenty of bills!!

Is your fuel tank ok? They hang pretty low on those Ivecos (we tore the bottom out of one on a kerb pulling out of a low field once).

Sunday’s pottering… Replaced a section of flue pipe- packed the cherry picker up and of course, I’d left my hammer in the gutter…🙄

Then burnt up a load of pulled out fences and farm waste whilst it was dry. No grab yet obviously.

The 86 feels very small once you’re used to it. I feel like the backhoe had more reach but surely not?

Kitten gets bigger every day. Yard cats doing well too. Kind of feel like ive got them the wrong way around- the house one tears the place apart, yet the yard ones go from the food bowl to the sofa, and as soon as you sit down they want to be on your lap!

BH would have a 22ft reach I think , that’s what BILs 2008 590 would stretch out to with semi QH. Same back end as the NewHolland.
