Seen this in a quarry when I was tipping some spoil recently . Owner reckons one of his first machines . Says he’d like to restore it bit sadly knowing him I can’t see it ever getting done .

Jeremy Rowlands over on CMN would like that he is a big Hymac fan, he published a book on Hymacs about 8 years ago its a nice book to have. He has a 580c and a Poclain I cant remember if its a 60 or a 90 but that a nice machine too He has a restoration thread on his machines. I remember as a kid that all you used to see on sites 580c or the odd MF450S JCB 5c not a Japaneese machine to be seen back then.

I remember those days, worked on most, I think the first Jap machine I worked on was a KH5 in 1998!

Up until a couple of years ago, there was a local guy, Tony flint who used to restore Hymacs. Used to stop and have a chat whenever I called at local Plumb center to pick up parts as he was next door. He’s retired now and sold workshop. I Found this vid of one he restored

I’d like to find an old early hitachi , uh052 or uh053
Or a liebherr R900 or R902 or even a liebherr duck A900B or C so that I could restore as a retirement project . I’d have a few years to gather up parts required . Need a shed first though , actually need a house first

A friend has this as his “yard machine” that he paid very little for when scrap was on its arse about 15 years ago. It’s done a mega amount of work and just keeps going!I’d like to find an old early hitachi , uh052 or uh053

Yes, 902. We collected it from a small farm up in the Peak District. No idea of its life before that. I do remember it was a miserable foggy day when we went to get it. We struggled to get the borrowed low-loader anywhere near and had a nightmare with the ramps and stopping it sliding off the side! It’s in need of a track motor on one side, and the replacement set of tracks fitting that have been in the corner of the yard for atleast 5 years
