is it a D1-8 mount Rob ?Druid,
I can’t help you on this one in Lowestoft but I have a spare 4 jaw for my Colchester that I’d let go.
It’s in fair condition but it does have one odd jaw which does not match the other three. It works ok but does have different size steps. I had planned to anneal it and make it match the rest but never got around to it and a few weeks ago I got to pick over the workshop on an oil rig and found a loverly Rhône 4 jaw.
can take some pics tomorrow if you might be interested.
easiest identifier is the stud size - every one is different and D1-8 is a one inch stud x 6 .. what diameter is it over all Rob?I think so. It fits my Colchester Triumph 2500. I’ve been working away for a few days and going to Manchester in the morning.
I’ll get some measurements from the chuck over the weekend.
False alarm I’m afraid Druid.easiest identifier is the stud size - every one is different and D1-8 is a one inch stud x 6 .. what diameter is it over all Rob?

False alarm I’m afraid Druid.
The one I have here has 0.875 (7/8)” dia pins so that makes it a D1-6.
you lucky lad .....My lathe only had a 3 jaw with one set of jaws when I got it. I could not believe my luck when I got to that oil rig and they said it was all getting scraped as it would cost more than the gear was worth to get it off the rig and 500 miles south to where it might be saleable.
I completely filled the back of my Ranger twice with ‘Swag’. Both chucks from lathe, face plates, steadies, quick change tool post. The lads on site had most of the spanner’s and small stuff but I grabbed as much of the workshop consumables as I could. I think I have a lifetimes supply of emery cloth, grinding disks, bolts, drill bits and welding rods.![]()
