I bought a new JCB 531-70 just before lockdown mainly for site work (relatively small 1-2 plot sites) to replace an much older JCB & have never been happy with it, mainly because of jerky unresponsive hydraulics compared to my Case TX140 (which is brilliant).
I have an old Case CX80 which although an excellent machine it doesn’t get as much use as it could due to transport issues mainly.
It’s possibly a hare brained idea but I’m mulling over the pros & cons of a midi duck in lieu of telehandler & 8tn tracked machine & would appreciate some advice/experience.
My thinking is that the duck should be able to lift most site gear & will be much more manoeuvrable. I have the TX140 if lift capacity is occasionally not enough. And it should be pretty much a straight swap for the CX80 on sites but easier to get to smaller jobs, so more likely to be used when better suited than the easier to transport <3tn machine.
Obviously a tilty on this would be the perfect accompaniment!
