It's a s**t sandwich however you slice it. If only there was a proper Conservative party with real Conservative values to vote for!

I can understand why it's happened. Between conservatives making a meal of it and on the face of it some of the labour policies being quite good for the average person. Problem is that it's only on the face of it. And most people don't seem to look deeper.
Biggest things that worry me is their policies towards farming and rural life, and their green policies being such an overreach

Most big farms don't seem to be owned by farmers anymore so that's really not much of a problem.
It's their seeming jealousy of average people in the countryside coupled with their determination to halt British food production.

Was an interview the other day with an activist, average blue haired labour/green supporter who wanted oil use banned by 2030. Utterly incapable of answering exactly how society would function.
Which seems to sum up the society that has voted for labour.

Quite happy to take out every handout and furlough etc but now everything since has been solely Tories fault.

It's interesting looking at the proportional votes. Reform had over 4 million votes yet only 4 seats, lib Dems had 3.5million vows and 71 seats. Doesn't sound fair to me.
Personally for all those saying it can't get worse Tories, speaking for myself I don't think I'm having a bad time out of life under Tory rule- I can envisage a scenario where things actually get a hell of a lot worse- not necessarily saying it will happen under Labour but sometimes you dont know how good you've got it untill you dont.

Things definitely need to change but the current 2 party bs is what stops it.
I wonder if reform had started a few months earlier whether they would have got more votes

Building houses ain't the problem it's the planning system totally subjective and incredibly expensive

have we not been building nigh on 250000 houses a year ?

4 years of yet more tax rises and then 15 years of austerity when they lose next time only plus side is they may shake up the planning laws which would be good for me I may get my house on the yard although I would be surprised if they don't go back on that promise

To be fair Brexit was less than half arsed, people in charge never thought it would happen, then didn't want to see it through, to top it off the rest of the government dragged their heals and did what they could to stop or slow it, that had a bigger impact

To be honest I'm not surprised. Its a pity there where no better options. Sounds like most people did what I did and simply abstained on the basis there wasn't a good option.

Hopefully the silver lining will be planning reform. But as said I doubt it. If we see it it'll benifit permissions rather than a individual that wants to build a house.

Im never sure this would come over right and I totally accept everybody’s opinion is different . It’s obvious via the total votes for labour is surprisingly isn’t much more than last time . It shows even the blues appreciate change is required. I won’t write anything else just I hope it works out the way you hope
