so is it two hours or nine ...... presumably the two hour option requires their own substation and a cable like your leg ..... less than 200 miles is a joke ... especially if you can't run the AC or heater to get that ..... and wait 'til it's frosty

yeh but they'll all do more than 187 miles tops and refuel anywhere (and won't be frightened to put the air con/heater on )

absolutely .. but .. doesn't take 2 or 9 hrs to fill a tank .... and you are seriously tied (read stuffed) on whatever the one supplier wants to charge you for leccy

I can’t see Collins making that kind of investment without some pretty careful research, and support from Volvo as well? Must be serious tax incentives involved also.
Recovering a fully loaded dead artic wouldn’t come cheap I imagine

I bet it’ll be a massive box-tick for a contract they’ve pitched for/won.

While they are doing their 9 hour charge no one else in the area can put their kettle on! I wonder if it will be economically viable to keep those lorries on the road after all of those fast charges the batteries will probably be knackered after 3 years so the lorries will be like alot of 6-10 year old electric cars and hybrid cars that are being scrapped already.
A friend of mine knows a chap who works for national grid and they are having alot of call outs where substations are blowing out as they cannot cope with the outage especially in the evenings in the south east the whole infastructure is not up to this, Its not exactly green energy when a power station is burning wood pellets 24/7 that have been shipped from Canada where forests have been cut down sustainable or not this is getting ridiculous where people over here think they are being green and F**k everywhere else that is suffering so we can feel good and say we are doing our bit. Maybe if we cut our population on this small island that we call the UK down a bit that would help the cause. Incidently did anyonelse see the thread that Nissan are already designing a new ultra clean Petrol engine, it has not made much mainstream media coverage (i wonder why)

Bang on. Anyone with a gram of electrical knowledge of the infrastructure knows something's gonna pop. Esso garage up road has put two super chargers in. Complete new substation...must have cost a fortune. Never seen anyone use em.

Like I say I'm seriously trying to be open minded but all I keep concluding is it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist outside of major cities...
