I don't think you have to be a genius to see the Tories are out. As said it's just a cycle. In a few years when labour have made a mess Tories will be back in favour. Then they will make another mess and be out again. Just a revolving door of sh*t politicians

Trouble is I think any politician will be s**t if you ask enough people. People seem to pigeonhole there political stance and therefore no one party/pm fits all. In 100 years i think most would conclude that Winston was probably the highlight. In today's world though not a chance

Farage is a grifter who's only in it for himself. Just declares himself leader again and is parachuted into a 'safe' seat (couldn't get more white working class anti immigration than Clacton). Either he'll loose and I guarantee fk off to America, or he wins, does F all for the people of Clacton and nets himself an MPs pension to draw alongside his MEP pension.
That said, in the absence of the SDP (not to be confused in the slightest with the SNP) gaining any airtime or traction, perhaps Farage is the least worse option to shake things up and begin the end of the rotten two-party system?

The SDP is quite interesting, is it connected to the old early '80s SDP? Seems rather different though. I once read that for the vast mass of people in the UK the year 1976 was about the best that it could be. This was before UK Oil, before mass unemployment (my town had 28% unemployment in '84) I saw a programme called 'Back to the Factory' re creating a garment works in South Wales in '69. It was said that at that time 85% of the clothes worn in the UK were also made here! In 1991 more barrels of oil were coming out of the North Sea than from Saudi Arabia, it was not to last, they drilled the Falklands till it was like a Swiss Cheese but found very little oil, hence no new 'Golden age of Prosperity'. It is said that Globalization works very badly for poorer people in rich countries, hence Trump & to an extent Nigel.
What surprises me about the SDP is that it is somewhat left leaning but does not seem to believe in the usual 'Liberal Establishment' open borders stuff, nor limitless single motherhood supported by the dole, two things that have ruined society over the time I have held a car licence. I feel the BBC is very biased toward these Liberal Establishment ideas that do much harm

I wasn't wrong really was I! Although think Sunak seemed able to back his argument up better than Keir who said the right things initially but then failed to elaborate when pushed on a subject. That's my take on it anyway.
