I also think reforms need to be far & wide, Private landlordisim is a kind of dole for the middle classes. One young guy who did a bit for me said he did not care if he was working or not. If he signed on (or was sick) the state paid his rent, if he worked he paid to the landlord but got nothing out of it. In other words he had no incentive to work & was a trapped 'serf' Mass immigration has not helped, it jacks up rents - ultimately there may be some kind of revolution or civil war. The Jews being the landlord class in 1920's Germany when all else went pear shaped led to them being singled out.

100% it wont happen not a chance ever . Some solicitors would bring a class action court injunction to say there should be a right to choose, and no one should be compelled to do anything . Greta will kick of that the tanks need to be battery powered and the army wont be able to afford the batteries unless they divert there entire budget for 5 years to lithium so say they could not employ the youth . The Muslim / Hindu/ Jewish and Rasta teens will get a exemption on ground of religion and or there hair wont fit under a tin hat and the rest would claim they will get skin cancer if they come our of there bedrooms in the hrs of daylight.
Even before it got that far the the MP's will have fallen out with each other and scupper the whole plan .
I wonder what odds you could get at the Bookies on it not happening ?

The fact it’s only been suggested now as a policy after 14 years in power says that it is obviously a load of bollocks with no real party belief or reality of being implemented ever.
Anything new any party comes up with in the next few weeks must be taken with a pinch of salt, it will only be to grab headlines.
We are going to end up with Kier, however you vote won’t change that. He’s a flip-flopping lawyer who says what he thinks is popular at the time (usually when it contradicts his previous stand-points) so basically we are knackered and have another term of suffering short-termist-pocket-filling scumbags to look forward to.
I’m probably voting Reform, but am definitely not voting for the main pair (having always voted Conservative historically).
Labour will sadly win, but it would be good to get as many minority MPs into the mix as possible is my thoughts.

Problem being the gov is broke, no matter the political party they need to raise funds and the only way they think they can do so is by taxing us to hell…. They can’t possibly become more efficient and sack half the useless overpaid ‘workers’!

I started self employed in April 2001 and CIS was current then. Little paper duplicate or triplicate books from HMRC IIRC. So 715 must have been before that, but Labour came in 1997 so assume between 1997-2001?

The government is spending a fortune on keeping the illegals in accomodation and Everyone seems to conveniently forget that they were all paid 80% of their wages during Covid and they they gave us eat out to help out to try and help out the hospitality industry, people enjoyed doing jack s**t or being out on their bikes while they were being paid, My local landlord said to me on Saturday he would have shut up shop if the government had'nt stepped in, We were all told if you listened to various informative news channels that once out of lockdown we would have high inflation too. Party gate may have happened but both parties were at it Starmer was filmed in a pub with a pint in his hand at a Labour gathering, Angela raynor said she as not there but then another pictured appeared of her being there in the pub so she had to change her story, The investigation on that was a total left wing stitch up, Starmer said he went out to eat when his hotel that he was staying in said they had offered a food menu, This is the same as the police being involved in Angela Raynors tax affairs they dont want to be involved but what about HMRC being involved then yet again its all been hushed up, remember Starmer was a Barrister so he knows how to get someone off the hook. Last major scandal was the expenses one and the left faired far worse than the centre right on that one, Everyone seems to have short memories, On election day reap what you sow!

Reading between the lines I kinda think Rishi might not actually want to be in office for another 4 years. I think as PMs have been off late he is one of the better ones. I'm not sure who I will vote for. Probably Tories. Not aligned with any party in particular, Reform says some of the right stuff but reading there manifesto it does accross a bit sensationalist. "Starmaggedon" talk and all that.

Pick the best MP for your area surely? Out Lab candidate is my daughters age (and I am only 43) so I feel a bit young, and our Tory MP is far too rich and has a primary job which seems to keep him away from his constituency. Lib Dem is the only one that has bothered to knock on my door. Cons very unlikely to lose their seat in Torridge though - Mr Cox had a 25000 majority last time.
