Your thoughts now on Tiltrotators.

And no disrespect at all to Furniss. But having watched from the sidelines and dabbled with others setups, I've seen very few that have actually advanced and made significant gains for the buyer.... Infact I've seen more people revert from high spec tilty equipped big machines to mini diggers with tiltys.... Many ways to look at it but personally the model isn't a sustainable one
Which category does my setup fall into ?

IIRC Engcon where doing basic units around that price, and some of the existing tilty users didn't like it  Almost like they didn't want the great unwashed joining them:ROFLMAO:
Yes they where perhaps limited in the control system, but if you where on the fence, cheaper way to see if it works for you?
A few years later now most machines can have 2 sets aux lines from the factory, may be its time for a basic 4 piper again.
@TiltyShaun had one and IIRC has only taken it off once since he's had it

Seems a gap in the market ..

CPS/ druidfab Collab ....gold tiltys.. Bingo

Jokes apart if someone rolls one out for 5k for a 3t size they going to cream it in?
TBH I am surprised Aiden hasn't had a go at a 'basic' Hurricane tilty yet ... he has the knowledge and facilities to create something economically .. perhaps the fear of usage out of his control deters this .. anything can be broken, if determined enough and proving abuse can often be difficult. IMHDO, he'd do very nicely out of it .. lots of folk looking for a 'starter package' on a basic set up

They were selling something along those lines alongside Sunward diggers - I don’t think they looked cheap enough for a punt though (they were still big money for an unknown Chinese unit imo).
the Chinese Katsu tilties've been around a few years now - never seen one fitted anywhere ---- probably 'cos they're only a few quid cheaper than the competition and totally insufficient incentive to take the risk on Yong Tong ...
sounds much like the Sany story eh?

@TiltyShaun would you have bought a full price on back then? Either way you bought an other, for you Kobelco didn't you?
which I doubt he'd have done, if he hadn't gained the experience, with his first 'bobby basic', button controlled unit, at the right sort of price, that made the initial trial viable for him

Engcon gave me 3k for my old 8 year old tilty as trade in that was just the tilty its self as I kept everything else, originally 9 1/2 k tilty and control system on pup hitch

It's in line with my apsolute pet hate of Microsoft making it as difficult as possible to purchase there software such as office and pushing everyone to have it on subscription. Nothing but a way to increase profits out of a fixed market that you cannot increase the size of.

I've studied it all quite hard and we are actively competing in a market with people that have tiltys, bio oil, GPS and similar "gimmicks" and will actively argue I cannot do the job because I've not got XYZ. So I study it reasonably well.

I don't think you can quite lump bio oil in with that. Obviously not on general site work. But on work near watercourses it is more of a safety feature than a gadget.

That’s the money they should be for a four piper, and yes they would sell well.

There is simply no need for a sophisticated control system on a mini digger. You can’t even put enough flow through the rotary joint to close a grab quick enough to be useful, why would you need a control system??

I know Aiden has replied saying looks like abuse from tree pulling but some of you might not have seen it.

Tilt hitch is 5k or more for a 3t though.

Are you in the UK market?
There may be differences in the landscape ...tbh I dont know because seems like ive been here forever, is it even abroad anymore 🙃

Agree with the majority of what you say Rory and you definitely seem clicked on for someone with 6 toes , but im not sure on this one.....as you suggest I can only speak for France and in particular my part of it and on top of that the type of work we do, so its all bollocks anyway.

See what my bottom line says this year and compare that to the last 19 👴
