Nipping this morning to look at my next job which was 4” under water 3 weeks ago!

has lashed it down here most of the night ... forecast to be a blue sky day here but not looking good

2 emails today from my number 1 client different ppl though

We’ve not got the budget for the 700m2 car park resurfacing you priced and we ok’d last year but if we do the drive in as well (1150m2 extra) we reckon we can get it ok’d can you price it up” lol

Other email 2 years on from first meeting tricky job on historic national monument and sssi 10 meetings so far no prospect of work gong ahead now can you start mid may lol

Todays job, somewhat hampered by failed quick hitch on hired in 8t CAT, x 2 !! Operator 1 tracks of 1.5M high pile of material using bucket to control dissent, rear jaw of hitch fails, ( machine has about 100hrs from new) Replacement identical machine, similar age and hrs. on site in 3 hrs. great service from Skelton Plant, approx 4 hrs. later operator 2 using ditching bucket to tidy up reports failed hitch ! exact same failure, third machine to be delivered tomorrow AM ? hopefully not equipped with Strickland hitch

ha nope ...those were just some slates that came out of the kitchen, they are tired of me trying to buy them so ive shut up ..they wanted them leaned up like that instead

I dont think I will use it much tbh ... I know its not really comparable but little gripper on engcon does a fair bit of the handling.
Gripper obviously limited in width and not very good at flat objects.
Pulled some old post bases out on this job and grips em no bother to put in dumper

Looks like iDig and Tilty came in handy,

Idig is playing up ....sensor seemed to get condensation in and went mia

put it inside next to fire for a few days and it showed on system all o.k again, so today plugged it in and couldn't get it to make any sense ...measurements were way off....but could be me that needs to do something to reset it

so borrowed a builder mates level which although im grateful isnt the same as a proper job, muppet here sold his rugby 100 which id had as a spare for 10y cos hadnt needed it
Prob going to pull trigger on a spectra gl1425c from @Laser Levels Online but miffed it doesnt do 90° squaring and reluctant to go to the GL622n ...decide tomorrow.

Gripper available at all times is the key to it, not sure why i sold mine ? lol.

gl1425c has less slope - app bluetooth control from phone - no squaring

Gl622n more slope - no bluetooth - 90° squaring ...about £400 dearer.
