the Jimnys were always known as being virtually invincible off road .... some nice little vehicles there
The Jimmy that Smiffy refers too would be a little more refined with power steering etc than the sj samurai that you are thinking of and a lot cheaper.can't be many of them left about these days

I agree with this, the 2wd quads fair better with high hours aswell.
ever thought of a elecy truck ?my mrs loves hers carrys 1/2 a tonHave heard decent things about Hyundai kit before ..... don't like the mucktruck drive system and the vertical crank set up .. horizontal crank is a way easier proposition to replace if needed and twin axle chain driven each side has to be preferable
that's the issue with a skiddy loader ... can buy old bobcats for a lot less, but they all make a mess on anything soft ... I appreciate that that (and others similar) are also skidders, but way lighter and bigger carrying bin.
other option is a quad and trailer (which I ain't short on), but cheap quads're usually bollo-ed ... would be handier on a range of fronts though
2wd is fine if you use it appropriately, my first quad was a 350 2wd yamaha big bear (got stolen 15 years ago and I'd still like 10 minutes alone with whoever took it, I loved that thing, was my first machine tooonly 2WD though .... Ross had some very cheap 2WD quads new last year, but only 2WD

I had a Yamaha 2wd 200 big bear as a 13 odd year old rolled it over backwards on a very steep but short bit lookily being big lad caught it on legs and pushed it off to side not long afterwards swapped for this beast 350 2 stroke Polaris automatic variable transmission. I used to tow 500kg of logs on easy tracks in woods, trailers of soil etc on sites and do quite a bit of hard offroading on it.
I'd happily trade this kawasaki in for one if it wasn't for knowing its history so well

it does ,manuel tip pull lever and hoike it up ,newer ones have a leccy tip ,there were a few in madley last time up

1564 Grove 15 tonner ... good old tool ... now if it was a 2564, 25 tonner I would be giving it seeeeeerious thought .. good as the 15s were in the lifting stakes the 25 was a whole different level ... registered as historic too .... I used to have a spare boom for one of these - 'til I cut it up clearing the yard .... still have the first stage tele ram though missing its fly absolutely solid 'old skool' tool
