plus, unless you make special arrangements with DVSA/VOSA / ministry / whoever is in charge this week, one day every 6 weeks (8 or 9 times a year) for the service/inspection regime (and cost) :(

So extra £1200 fee , plus I guess a pre inspection check to make sure it passes every time? Soon tots up!
Probably the only good thing to come out of France, except for the croissants 😂

Yeah I wouldn't want to have to try and get money back on that in 12 months. Hoping my neighbour with his Kubota gets itchy soon.

Personally I'd take advantage of lowering prices of used one. Unless your putting some serious hours in on a new one I can't really see how £34k on a new one adds up in current climate Vs used. That said if you want new and have some excess cash then go for it- can't beat a new machine untill you put the first scratch on it then it's as good as used anyway😂😩

I've bit the bullet and gone for a new one. 24 will be a 24 for the next 11 months, so in 2028 it'll be 5 years old and if I get 15k for her, then it's 3k a year depreciation.

I ended up going for the kx027 as I fancied the extra 1 cylinder engine and the fat arse for a bit of stability.

I don't regret buying my E27 new. She does so much work she's paid for herself five times over, even though I still have seven months to pay on the finance.

You do get to worrying about residuals, etc, but then if you keep it another year and do another 5k profit with it thats the depreciation more than covered.

I've pulled those figures out my arse, but I've lost count of the number of jobs on which my two £27k machines (Multione and E27, pre-COVID puchase prices) have made me a grand a day in profit after wages.

Yes fair enough. I could only dream of those figures😂 . I'm a bit stingy I think so don't be put of by my doom mongering. But for my business model £34k Vs £20k for something that has probably done just over a thousand hours and a few years old seems like a fair bit of depreciation to me. BUT with new you are getting something exactly how you want it and to know no other fool has been on it is worth a fair bit in itself so 🤷

Got talking to a contract farmer the other day. 72 plate Fastrac. 60kph! He did say he doesn't use all of that while he has a plough on the back. Watched him pull drag runs up and down a concrete runway to throw mud off his tyres. Still looked fast from a field away.
