I know your right about the wasted vote thing, but to me this just seems so utterly demoralising. We're literally going to spend the rest of time churning the same two parties around. When can it ever change unless people start voting for other parties?
Wasn't that long ago that the entire Devon and Cornwall area was 100% Yellow......

If the lib Dems returned to being the voice of choice we'd likely see a resurgence and takeover. They have some very very good local politicians who are worth there weight.

Unfortunately they never really woke up after the referendum to the fact that the country needed there original format more than ever..... Imagine if rather than there stance that we should return to the EU they instead voiced that they would aim for equal rights and maximum flexibility for individuals but maximum protection to UK industry from imports.

I've got to be honest.... I won't be voting at all..... It doesn't sit well with me but the two main parties are self explanatory why...... I can't vote for the lib Dems as there stance isn't in keeping with my view that life is what a individual makes it.

I can't vote for reform UK either....... Partly because populism gives me 1930's vibes and partly because when it turns out to be a s**t show we will return to the norm...... A sudden rise of a party from nothing to full power isn't necessarily a good thing.

I'd like to see a hung parliament and the likes of reform UK and the lib Dems...... But I doubt it.

Tbh whilst not a royalist at this stage I'd be happy if Charlie took over for 6months, booted them all out in disgrace and mandated the people to start again.

🤔some good food for thought there. It does feel like we need something drastic to happen politically . I’m not so sure about Charlie at the helm though but a reform - Lib Dem alliance might shake things up

Politics are in disarray, I'm not sure any politicians have had the trust of the public for a long time but recently the in fighting has just been ridiculous and the current MP's of both parties, but mainly the cons all trying to position themselves for the future (probably because they know they wont win an election ) ,by distancing them selves from one policy or another or even the party itself they are frankly a joke .

In reality elected and paid to run a country but could not run a bath !!

I would be the first to admit having a coherent functioning country and government that can trade and do business worldwide would be more tricky than any of us would know , one policy effects another, one trade off or agreement effects another country who's help is needed with another policy or diplomacy etc it seems simple but its not I think the old comedy yes Prime minister was probably quite factually correct, in that Whitehall runs the show the government just steer the ship , BUT having some idea of where you are going and having a crew on the ship who actually agree with the course would be good staring point that seem to be eluding the government and seriously undermining anyone's trust in politics , They are all frankly a joke.

I hear you about not voting ....but take the Peter bone affair..13% of the constituents voted him out....I mean that's hardly proportional 🤨
Just using as example.

Tbh if the conservatives got Nigel farage or even got Boris back as their head I would vote for them but with sunak I don't think so
You have nailed the issue with the Cons.

When they forced Boris out a large proportion of the country would of liked a general election... It didn't and arguably couldn't happen. (It would of been a spiral of disarray).

Truss got in with a mandate..... She was voted for by Tory members and like it or not that is no less acceptable than the Gordon Brown changeover. She should of been allowed to run her course without the immediate and relentless media campaign to scuttle her. Truth be know there was a huge amount going on that we will never know...

So Rishi... Who wasn't the choice of the Tory members and being a smug rich man alienates the lefty's and being a tone of brown alienates half the people who are on the right magically wisps in..... And seemingly now can't be challenged or ousted.

The very fact he's had to wheel Olde David out of the Lord's Retirement House speaks volumes..... I'm not convinced that's for experience, my money is on he needs the fewest people who can challenge him..... FS is a powerful position for a potential rival and I'd say the only reason there not lining up to knock him off is that the Tory leadership ATM is akin to the premiership of Thames water..... No matter what you do you will only be remembered for the vast amount of excrement leaked into the environment by your predecessors..... And that includes everyone back to Cameron..... Although I spare Truss from this, as said it's f****ng disgraceful that she was shot to bits in the manner she was.

Labour are to blame for being a entirely ineffective opposition..... Corbyn was the right attitude to lead it but entirely the wrong man. And his past lives and campaigns where without doubt enough to turn any moderates over to the Tory's..... And they did.

Kier is another suited prick..... He's a seeming moderate with no charisma.... If you dig into his past it reads very well, but unfortunately he's a lawyer and no matter how noble your cause in the likes of myself that's as bad as being a rich prick from Eton. And track records speak volumes.... He's help prime positions in labour but has not managed to shoot what is a very weak Tory government to bits once.....

David wasn’t in the Lords, he has been out there to enable him to be the Foreign Secretary. Does say rather a lot about the MP’s he had to choose from that he didn’t trust one of them. Bringing in a fellow WEF convert is not exactly democracy!!

We need a major shape up. Someone will stick there head over the parapet soon but might not be until after the election.

It seems to be voting for the least bad. Neither of the main parties are very aspirational and with first past the post voting for anyone else is a wasted vote, or worse will split the vote on the side you prefer and let the worst in by default.
I just wish we had a few more Conservatives who really are Conservatives rather than Blairite internationalists.
They really ought to sort out this thing of the courts overrulling government policies. It undermines democracy if a party gets elected on a platform and when they try and implement it people opposed can go to court and get it stopped. I'm sure this didn't happen in the past, or am I just getting old?
Zieg heil her furrer?

Having a legal recourse to bad legislation is what makes our country so great not myopic dictators pan handling to a hard right minority to clasp at power.

there isnt a right of centre party to vote for is the problem.

If a Party stood to:

1. kick the illegals out / get out of any and all non UK courts.
3. Use one of the empty jock islands to house the illegals until their case is decided or they decide to return to whence they came. Not allowed to leave said island.
2. Massive clear out of the lefties in civil service.
3. ban gender ideogy in the entire education system.
4. put free speech into law, calling a bloke dressed as a woman a bloke should not require police intervention.
5. remove all victimless crimes from the police.
6. Make any form of political correctness an offence with £250 summary fine.
7. BBC forced to repay 5 years of licence fee to any who request it, empty the bbc pensions fund if needed to meet the bill.
8. The practicing of anti-british culture to be severely discouraged, loss of benefits etc
9. Cap of £60k salary for anyone paid by the public purse.
9. Jail Blair.
