Yes 3.5 v6 but on lpg just got it back on the road after a couple years think a mouse has eaten some wiring to the fuel pump relay is fine pump is new and works when powered separately so I have to do lpg starts ATM
give the engine/vaporiser time to warm up a little or the vaporiser will freeze up - not so bad ATM, but when the weather gets colder it'll be essential. Otherwise gas start is fine as long as you don't clog it/demand too much gas from the off.

A friend of mine test drove one at the dealership in Gloucester and said the steering was terrible. Is it recirculating ball? , like old land rovers , to reduce kick back when off reading? But it doesn't want to self centre after going round a corner he told me, and having to constantly correct. Put him right off!
Just reading a review in a Landrover magazine, (🤔) the steering takes some getting used to. Overall they think it is a good job. In fairness if they spend there time in an old defender, almost anything else is a good job!!

Compare my discovery to my Hilux and the steering is lighter in the disco yes, but it’s very reactive, put it into ‘Dynamic mode’ (fast road) and it stiffens the steering wheel up and also hardens the suspension. Similar thing in my Focus RS, but it was lethal in that, hit a cats eye on full boost and it sent you half way across the road! Sold the 💩 thing!

That defender is cool, I would love to build one myself one day.
I pulled the v8 out of my rangrover the other day in the hope that one day i can build a 110 trialer/ work bus.

So had a free afternoon drive and food event from them this week in lakes. Lovely spot tbf.
Very nice offroad seriously capable and loads of nice touches locking diffs all round and all buttons no touch screen etc ...but a bit old fashioned on the road ...nice sounding proper engine.
In short I can't quite see who will buy them apart from rich Greenlaners or shooting type Wannabees Ponce's with money sadly. Not commercial and crappy payload. Seems a nice attempt and nice to see something different .

Feel a bit bad dissing it but just doesn't really stack up for me ...really wanted it to...

Pickup just looks a bit weird and rear end heavy with massive overhang ond again crap payload and weird shallow rear tray.
But would prob make decent tow barge.
Starts at 68k 😳

Don't complain - suggest what's better
I actually had a Santana pickup at one time. The guy who worked for me at the time wrote off one of my Defenders and we got so little on the insurance I couldn't afford another landrover, so bought an ex demonstrator Santana. To be fair, it wasn't bad. Much more comfortable than a Defender as it had proper seats. Towed well, but was very basic, which again is no bad thing.
