I havent tried it to be honest, it'll be a good weight and I could do with something that closes right up like yours.take it the selector isn't up to what you're doing @Richard Hunton![]()

Had wondered if the shells could be changedyeh that was a big selector![]()
unlikely that you'd have enough travel and would probably be a difficult proposition as it was built as purely a selector ... can't recall the breedHad wondered if the shells could be changed![]()
I cant recall it either so for 10 points whats the brand ....unlikely that you'd have enough travel and would probably be a difficult proposition as it was built as purely a selector ... can't recall the breedAE IIRC .. and was a LUMP ... any idea what happened to the rotator off it?

it just came to me too Aiden, as I was reading Richards post and then scrolled down to see yoursThats an Arden selector grab
yours is bigger than that isn't it Richard?I cant recall it either so for 10 points whats the brand ....
Im not sure to be honest, I need to go and have a look in daylight and see what the plate says, I know its a big old lump, I think a new purpose made grab would be the way to go, to lower the weight and maximise the lift capacityyours is bigger than that isn't it Richard?... seem to recall it's a DS1100 or DS1200
No idea what happened to the rotator, I can only assume it was redundant as it was always going to be used under the tiltyunlikely that you'd have enough travel and would probably be a difficult proposition as it was built as purely a selector ... can't recall the breedAE IIRC .. and was a LUMP ... any idea what happened to the rotator off it?
Yeh, but was a hell of a lump tooNo idea what happened to the rotator, I can only assume it was redundant as it was always going to be used under the tilty
that looks a solid beast Aiden
I think the machine/ tilty would give up before that didthat looks a solid beast Aiden
To be fair, us Intermecatto boys are giving them some pretty constant usage.need to remember that Rich is talking about 14+t machines guys ...... not knocking the various brands suggested, but you're all talking about your experiences of small grabs ... I've given mine some seeerious challenges and not damaged it on the end of 16t of duck, often with the wheels aloft

Had a conversation with the seller last night about something else he has listed .... came across as a decent, very affable chap and certainly open to negotiation IMHDO ... his 'mainline' is shipping containers, by the seem of itLooks like it would do the job, but at that money its not a million miles away from new money......
