Tbf local toyota dealer has an ex demo 72 plate 2.8 hiluxs up for £49995
So a brand new truck for 4 grand less suddenly seems ok.
Before th cv bs I had a quote on a 2.8 hilux at I think was 34k or possibly 36 but think the former
That was top spec 1 too

£36k+vat actually doesn't seem too bad, it's basic work spec and LHD but to get a truck with that lump in it and I believe a 7000kg train weight so you can still put 1300kg in the bed an tow a 3 tonner around. Yeah think I know where I'd be spending my money.... you can keep yer fannymobiles🤣

Sadly not the V8 tho...guy up here got one of the last V8s.
Trouble is I'd end up spending another 20k on it 😆🫣

Pam was in Plymouth at the weekend and one of Josh's BILs, who was supposed to have been there, cried off sick ...
been to the quacks with identical symptoms and told it's almost certainly the latest covid strain ...
which doesn't test +ve
the cough I've had for two weeks has abated to a degree - like not a totally full chest of crap, but still plenty lower down and is a right bast**d ...
have strained an intercostal muscle this evening, coughing, lying 'awkwardly' on the settee ..
's all I bloody need TBH ..
's been a long day with the kids at 07.45, 'til nigh on six - much as I love 'em I really am not fit to cope with them ...
had to drag myself into the car to go down the school this morning and wasn't a lot better this afters .:(
other issue is I just do no fancy anything in the way of food ... this second week especially after it 'came back' ... don't think I've had more than a few bits of toast and a couple of small meals in the last 9-10 days
