Had proper crane on site this week for first half of steel install. Been using the roto to do the block and beam. Been handling itself pretty well. Not sure id want a standard tele around that size anymore so useful having the slew. Just need to batter hire company down on price a bit. Also block and beam on the first floor is a nightmare, always use hollow core planks normally cant see the benefit at all other than slightly better on acoustics.

It's actually pretty nice and the cab feels decent, far more comfy than the previous week's Hitachi. Was on a breaker so nice having it on joystick not foot pedal. Grades nicely. Blade lever is in a stupid place. No immobilizer as standard and cwp don't fit them which I don't think is great. It is slightly Noddy which is surprising as it isn't a proper zero swing, and dropping the blade doesn't help like usually does
Only thing it does and it might be just this particular machine is when grading if you pull the dipper on and push it away from you without a slight pause it judders, enough to make me feel sea sick. Slight change of driving style sorts it but forget every now and then.
I don't think you could complain atall if you where being paid to drive it but I don't think it's an owner op machine.
Oh and the slew is really really imprecise. It didn't matter for what I was doing but would really annoy me digging footings or trenches and I think would make a tilty on it unfeasible

Only benefit of b/b on first floor is you can chop and change it around if someone has cocked up
nice to see a decent crash deck in place

was a bit sceptical of crash deck at first as its all plastic but once its up its solid. Another issue with block and beam setting all that up. Hollow core floors can just use airbags.Only benefit of b/b on first floor is you can chop and change it around if someone has cocked up

might just be the flatface connections ,but its in a box so cant see where till i take it to bitsthink Ste @sjs5060 has had a few apart ... I bought one off him many moons ago

Sites I go on use alot of plastic trad decking now bit of time setting up but brickies like using it . I may be totally wrong but an you still use air bags?

put a first floor beam set in with Russ about 2 years ago and that was all air bag-ed ... (Oct. '21)

Dont think the floor installers would use them if they were not allowed. That being said we haven’t had them on site for a couple of years now so things may have changed. I imagine alot of it is on a site by site basis. Photos last time we used april 2020

House builder I do work for switched from airbags to decking about 6 years ago so this shows bags can still be used
We used the decking to put in a beam and block 1st floor was handy to stand on to infill beams

Delivered this little package today, JCB Hydradig that we supplied the attachments for. Rototilt R3 with gripper, Nordic style grading bucket, forks 300mm trench bucket and a Hurricane Utility bucket. Mounted on the factory fitted skidsteer headstock.
