I see Nigel Farage has had all his bank accounts closed and no other bank in the UK will let him open an account. How can you carry out every day life without a bank account? It stinks, I don't care if you are left or right having a bank account is a necessity these days. Can you even pay for gas and electric, broadband etc by cash any more?
I thought a few years ago the government decided to pay dole etc direct to accounts so everyone was entiltled to banking, but I guess not.

I don’t think he’s the only one either, just that he’s speaking out about it. They’ve also done similar to members of his family apparently.

Barclays threatened to close my business account the other day, if I didn’t answer some questions! WTF is happening to the world ?

My father has had an account with them for decades, on several occasions they have pissed him off so much that he’s said “fukc it, let’s move banks” but we never went through the hassle of opening another account. But we’ve had a gut full of these twats now, opening an account elsewhere.

It was reported in the news earlier in the week that the 999 system went down across good part of the Midlands and Yorkshire for several hours.
I believe it was on the BBC news website.
Makes you wonder if there is an active rusky/chinky hacker playing havoc with communications.
does make you wonder about just WHO / WHAT is to blame ??
one system - breakdown 'praps, but two systems????? o_O:rolleyes:

was a drama on TV last year 'bout GCHQ watching the 'world' and at the same time the ruskies were watching every key stroke and camera in GCHQ .... was a well put together and plausible drama, with obviously a lot of factual background knowledge ... IIRC Simon Pegg was the head honcho and played the part very well.
yesterday's fiction is often today's reality -- et seq

by who and why?
obviously frightened of him

one bank I do not have any accounts with ... they pissed me off in 2010 when I was buying Chez Druid ... nearly cost me the purchase as they wouldn't give me the £85k sat in my savings a/c there .... so closed all my a/c.s with them and ain't been back. Know lots of folks have had trouble with them.
Lloyds, who I have been with for 35 years biz-wise, forty + years personally, and manage my life with, know full well they will only piss me off once  ...
came very close last year, when Barclaycard took their D/D 4 days early (always pay it off in full) ...
noticed it following day, when I was topping up the current a/c to cover it on the usual due day and there was this list of charges  ... me an' the manager had a strong conversation and they were waived ... eventually.

but they're all the same ...
have funds sat in a/c.s with Nat west ... keep threatening to close them, ('cos they have no activity, other than accruing what meagre interest there is these days) and put the monies in some 'pot' .... so to piss them off I pay 10p into each of 'em every couple of months ...
's activity :ROFLMAO:
been with them since I was 17 - nigh on 50 years

Massive cash ‘investments’ will undoubtedly trigger alarm bells. Good job you have scrap-yard-ambiguous-weights arguments covering your every transaction!
try drawing more than £5k in cash from your banks ... or paying in more than £3k ..... want the ins and outs of a duck's ar*e and your inside leg measurement .... used to be £10k, in or out ... coming down monthly

Been looking into something called ISO20020 this week as our bank sent load of info.
New world wide bank integration standards for electronic payments...but quite a few veiled references to transparency and cash...
And RBS also stopping third party deposits etc all in the name of stopping money laundering....
They making cash VERY unattractive to businesses now.

That is a very well thought at piece on what is going on in Netherlands.

I was at a meeting yesterday with a developer and his lead land man. They was advising me to look into the BioDiversity Planning Gains that will be part of the planning process later this year. ReWild the farm and sell the BiiDiversity points. ReWild sounds great, but it now smells like a sinister plan to “control the food, control the population.”
Might yet have a rethink!!

If the actual plans are to increase biodiversity why don't they start with the unmanaged poor quality woodlands we already have. We could vastly vastly improve our biodiversity without adding any extra woodland simply by using traditional management techniques on woodland that's been left to go to rack and ruin.
If any of them actually read a book by the likes of Oliver rackam they would see just how far in the wrong direction we are going.
