not a bad little drill ... thought I had a push button starter box for it somewhere, but couldn't find the damned thing this morning, so it got metalclad switch for now
collect Clara from school at 3.15 ...
then deliver her to Mum in her school at 4.00, to go to her swimming class ...
can't believe it's a week since we took her swimming, last Friday
then gave the green shite a hair cut after tea - everywhere ('cept the bank - still too wet for the Danes herring bones -- lashed down here last night)
's about time the weather bucked up .. it's 6-8" long where I haven't been ... forecast for the week's not great again .. 's gonna be a battle when I eventually get to it and a lot of clearing up

we tried that last year with the bank above the lawn ... jeez it took some getting back under control.
we have considered what you suggest, but it's the return to 'tamed' is the problem .....
the Dane'll cope with 12" or more ...
but you then have to tidy it all up once chopped ...

If I can keep on top of it it doesn't need collecting as the Dane's set up to mulch, not that it does a great job of that, but cut weekly it copes ..
my current issue is the ground is so soft, it's herring bone tyres'll tear the ground up and without them/on grass tyres, I'll end up in the ditch .. as said - been there, got the tee shirt - a few times
I'll get away with a few more weeks growth, other than the clean up

this was the original driveway to ours, before we bought it ...
there's planings under there, believe it or not ......
always takes some taming, first cut ...
usually Dane it, but wasn't getting it out just for this.
would love to dig it out and put a BIG garage with a basement in there
then went all down the lower side of the jungle beside the drive ...
can't get at it, close to the fence, in some parts, so's always a strimmer job, 'fore it gets 'Dane-ed'

bit of a 'bitsa' day today ... few little things to catch up with .. coupled with a few 'can you justs'
bit of grass movement, first off... was a lot of grass in those piles from yesterday - took a while
then....
One of our patio umbrellas succumbed to a big gust end of last season and snapped in it's (druid) base ... been meaning to get a spigot turned up for it for ages and as the boss wanted it back in service .. I had to get on with it ...
had the remnants of a shaft out of a machine I'd worked on for Simon, which was pretty close to what I needed, so gave that a few mod.s with the Harrison ..
hopefully that'll keep it in one piece a while longer -- it used to drop into the base's tube - now the spigot does an even better job and replaces the bit that snapped off too
gave the little compound vice I had with that little 50 quid Fobco bench drill some attention in the form of a complete strip, clean, scrape off on the bed ways, lube and reassembly ... not a bad little thing now it all moves freely
the colour appears to be original ... dare say one of these'd cost you what I gave for it and the drill
followed by tea...
and as it was a lot more pleasant this evening after the Northerly'd subsided came back out and had a 'fiddle' with a couple of hyd fittings, I've been meaning to create for a while ... 'Drema has a lot of these flat CAT type fittings, which're eye wateringly expensive new (bought a few on hoses a while ago and they ain't cheap), so with what came off the dead ones I've meant create some adaptors back to conventional BSP ...
just got to weld 'em up
'Drema also has a LOT of large metric, which again ain't the cheapest and Fast fluids don't always have them on the shelf (bit odd ball apparently), so did the same with some gash pipe ends for those too ...
again, some hot stick required, next time I have it out ... couple more to mod too
used to do a hell of a lot of similar things for the hyd. guys across the road from me in work, when they had weird stuff to match up/repair in a hurry and didn't have 'the right' fittings on the shelf.
