Nice. Mine was 250lc. Think it was stan stevens tuned. Was quick. Lucky to be alive now
aye it would've been if Stan'd breathed on it .... on a par with Becket ... both well known for wringing the RD's neck

Nigel Carr was the man I couldn't recall ......
here's the result of much investment on his part .... (I had the original seat to go with it) .... oh and they were Allspeeds Dyl, not Microns ;)

Only me that doesn't do motorbikes then. Lol
You are not alone!!
Had a couple of 50cc mopeds at 16 but got a car license shortly after 17th birthday and have caused enough carnage with that!!

ACY 533B ... my first on the road ... Hodna C100 Cub step-through ... after removing 3mm from the top of the carb slide, it'd do nigh on 60mph :giggle::giggle: and ate fizzies for brekky .... CD175 soon followed that

Try a 1290 ktm if you like torque - 2 x 650 pots make it a wee bit agricultural - but another level off the bottom.

The 1190 Adventures are mega and pretty good value now - I keep thinking about an R. Not much between them and the 1290 in real term performance IME (they are all bloody fast!).
I’ve got a 990 Adventure R and will never sell it. Hard to find good ones now, they are great off road and crash well!
I've tried an R1200GS and it's just too big and cumbersome for me. I'm can't find anyone who has a bad word to say about the Triumph Tiger 800s as an all-rounder, other than the screen height which you can change and possibly the seat if long distance touring. Plenty of aftermarket seats available too.

A nice 'stealth green' Tiger 800XCA has just come up locally, so I'm hoping I can go look at that later. There's certainly no shortage of them available, they seem to have a very good following.

The KTMs are a lot more ‘svelte’ than the Beemer tractors, and the weight falls off them once moving.
Tigers are great, but fragile if dropped. So don’t drop it!
