and the rest .... that is some hole -- and some chamber alongside it too .. my initial reaction to the first pic was " **** me" !!

Even putting the machine arm and bucket in there give you some protection, or a couple of scaffold planks and some 3x2 whalers if no trench sheets

Pretending to be @Gunners but still remember how to use sticks, sorting a cluster feck of drainage out, back to a job where when we did I said shall we do a hard edge? No we want soft edges, 2 weeks later can you come add a hard edge please lol

Fairly big hole today ....9mx5mx1.25 deep - good old Kubota ripped it out to grade in about 1.5hrs Inc short lead with 3t dumper.....thats with a pretty sorry looking 900mm bucket with bad teeth missing a bolt etc (blame the fitter)
Might miss it for these ones.

I never find there is a vast amount of difference between the two when just digging holes. But then most 8 tonners seem to come with buckets far to small for them

Was thinking this the other day, my 8 ton runs pretty much same 900mm bucket that my old 5ton Kubota ran. But it pulls it through the ground a hell of a lot quicker when the going gets a bit tough

Yeah well I will find out shortly I suppose as this is its last job if things go to plan.
It's always been very basic,not overly comfortable, a bit noddy with that heavy Geith tilt bucket I have but its been amazing reliability wise, it came with a faulty tracking motor (won't go Hi speed when hot) and a dodgy window catch but otherwise totally bombproof and dependable.
The wacker neuson is in a different league in lots of respects but tbf to the Kubota the wacker is prob 10 years newer design wise and I dont see how the Kubota can be bettered for reliability.

For our generally light work the wacker is a fair bit quicker cycle times wise and picks up the 8t buckets so in easy digging and light duties the WN should be quicker but same as today's job in stoney going then the 8t will surely best it.

Todays antics, got 9 ton in then lifted micro in and started digging for sump pump going in, need 2200mm deep but 1810mm max for dx10 so going to have to dig a step in.

Yes I have ....just going through it on a night at the moment ready to get it out to work next week.
Managed to find a mint one seems to be lots of good ideas and quality touches on them, going to give my thoughts when I've had it out at work for a bit.

Full reach on the dx10 in some sh1tty back fill, mill converted 1996 ish this was old pit where waterwheels were some big old beams around. Trying to get a 2mx1.5m pumping station in

I just spent the last hour questioning myself. I've never had a foundation with a 6-inch outer block which will carry the stonework above and a 4-inch internal below the ground which has got to fill the cavity whilst pouring the slab.

Luckily I've been doubting myself as I haven't ordered any bricks yet but i doubt ill have time to add it to the order in the morning before it arrives!
