Conventional tail swing minis

Better add my opinion of the Volvo ec27d, Plastic panels are tougher than you would think, although my occasional operator has managed to put a small crack in one, some people can damage anything, and i think its no harder to repair than knocking out and repainting a steel panel.
Volvo spec sheet says 2655 kg transport weigh + 12 kg for long dipper option, + 100 kg for additional counterweight which may or may not be needed, i have it with additional weight of tiltrotator at the other end its well balanced. (200mm wide track option saves 75kg according to spec sheet ?)
1.1 engine ? it does seem to work hard sometimes, maybe in a ideal world it would have the larger Engine that bobcat runs but wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.
Has a slightly larger pump output than the ecr25d Volvo and considerably better lifting abilities, although it looks very similar it a very different machine i find.
Early versions had a reputation for poor grading ability which was resolved with a revision to the valve block at some point.

I had a WN 28z3 (previous model to the EZ26 and not much different i think) before the Volvo, If i really needed a zero tail swing machine, i do miss it sometimes, i think the EZ26 would be top of the list, the side mounted engine has great access, pins and bushes seemed higher spec. than a lot of machines and nice to operate in general.
Hope this helps. (y)
Thanks, yeah good feedback. The Wacker is a shame because it's a lovely looking machine and the quality of the fit and finish seems decent. I had almost decided on it but then today I was chucking fairly hefty Ash trunks around on a steep hillside and needed all the arse weight I could get. I'd like to thing the Volvo with additional countweight option could match it. Good point though on the plastic panels. Its not all bad as no rust/flaking paint issues etc so perhaps would stay looking presentable going into the future.

I always think this re metal versus non metal panels...always shines up well and doesn't rust 👍🏻
Can't you add counterweight to the Wacker ?

I believe there is a updated EZ26 due that has a rear mounted engine, i think @Thomas7740 posted about it, why they would go away from the side mounted design other than to improve stability i don't know, but i can't see it making much difference.
Something i considered when i was trying to improve the stability of my ecr25d before i changed it for the ec27d, was a second counterweight and making it easily removable for transport, the problem with counterweights on zero tail swing machines is they have limited affect as their so close to the centre of the machine ?

Yeah that's my thoughts. Ok Im not a physicist, but looking at my TB125 when it's side over the tracks there's about a 2ft overhang of the counterweight, Its incredibly stable and just can't see the EZ26 being anywhere close to it even with the additional counterweights and wider track frame it has etc. But does look a very nice machine if I was just doing bucket work all the time.

You said your local bobcat dealer was s**t? That’s unfortunate because an e27 would really suit your work. God knows I work mine hard!

Its not that they're s**t, they just don't exist. My nearest dealer is up Oxford way. Plus they quoted £36k for a E27, trying to pull a fast one and wouldn't want to have dealings with them based on that anyway. My local Tak dealer hasn't been much better either £38k for a TB230.

I think you will find dealers of all brands a lot keener now!

I had a go in an sv26- brand new, put it side by side with my e27 on a job. Both the op and I agreed that the e27 was a nicer machine to operate.

Yeah I had a sv26 on hire about 4 years ago. I don't remember being blown away by it then but it had the most horrendous hitch on which completely spoilt the machine, yeah shame bobcat aren't closer as does tick the boxes I must say.
Interestingly enough the Wacker dealer are also Case dealer and offered a CaseCX 26c for £28500 with hydraulic hitch and buckets. Think it's actually a Hyundai in case clothing. Only 1 year warranty though..

Don't discout the importance of getting four pipes on the boom and joystick rollers. I know you're a thumb fan, but that makes it easier to run another attachment without disconnecting, and means it's ready when you finally see the light and buy a grab with a fixed rotator or even a tilty!

No intiallly it's to replace my TB216 which is generally too small for much of my work, will keep my 2.8t 125 for the time being. So have 2 2.8ts for a while see how that works out. If I find I'm really missing the 1.8t size then the TB125 can then be traded in for one when needed.

New D series is eurocomach. But they have only just been lunched so not many of them around yet. Possibly the quote for the cx26 is the older C series which is Hyundai build as I don’t think D make a 26.

I had 212kg hanging off the end of the rototilt and bucket yesterday on EZ26 just about at full extension 90' to the tracks

Yes spot on. This was one of the last Hyundai ones before the eurocomach ones take over- hence price I guess

On paper the lift capacity at far reach is higher than my TB125, I find that very hard to believe in real world scenario- the science doesn't add up!

Yeah I don’t think u get a 26 in D series. It’s a cx25D. C is a good enough machine aswell. I have a 37c and 19c both Hyundai build. I like them ok. Really interested in a cx12D at the minute. Would like to change my airman to something with arm rest levers and would like to do it now when I can make use of the 130% tax relief on new machinery. But my dealer can’t get one until may and the tax relief ends in March. So might have to look at bobcat or takeuchi

Was that with the extra counterweight- seems most of them come as standard anyway. What's your thoughts then did it seem well planted?
Yes had the extra weight on.
At that point it was on the tipping point.
Not sure what the r1 and bucket weigh but would guess 140kg ish.
It was the same out front but kept the blade up so that would increase a fairbit I think
