Volvo ecr28 manual

Hi, I am new to the site and all so to owning a Volvo ecr28 digger. I am looking for a work shop manual but I can only find one on eBay in USA at £200 l tried to contact a Volvo dealer in Coventry but with no response to my emails. Could anybody please point me in the right direction many thanks Kevin.

Hi, thank you for your reply, I was looking for a work shop manual to understand how things should work. Oil pressure on Hydraulic system, service intervals and what should be changed at these intervals. Machine is in good condition with 2800 hours on the clock, I took an excavator driver with me to look at it before I purchased it as I did not know enough about them. Many thanks Kevin.

Just change the engine oil/filter every couple of hundred hours and the hydraulic oil/filter every 500-1000 depending upon how it's used (sooner if lots of breaker or flail work etc). Air filter every 500 ish, less if working in dusty conditions, you can always blow the woprst of the dust off the outer filter with an airline too. Diesel filters as required- how shitty is your fuel supply? Don't neglect track motors- costs pence to change the oil and not changing it has necessitated many an expensive replacement. I do mine at 200 hours, but I do a lot of tracking.


Don't worry about the hydraulic pressures unless you have issues- although someone here will probably know.

Keep an eye on bottom boom Post pin bolt has a habit of disappearing and pivot pin drops out, also keep eye on water level all our mini volvos seem to use water for some strange reason

Don’t forget the pilot hydraulic filter/filters, early ones in lever hoses later ones separate larger to feed all pilot supplies, if blocked strange things can occur, vibration, heavy levers, slow movement in all hydraulics.

You will probably notice the boom moves very very slowly to the right.it’s hardly noticeable but it happens.I’ve had 4 volvo’s all from new and they have all done it.including 2x ec15bxtv,an ec18c and my current ecr25d aswell.

Depends on age of the machine, it could be in the hydraulic pump area, or they could be smaller ones in the hose adaptors under each servo lever.

I'm new on this plateform. I have and electrical issue on my ecr28. When I turn the key to step one I don't hear the tone and the fuel pump but I hear the relay. At key on step two the starter run but the motor does not start.
After days of search if I wired direct from the battery to the orange wire of the fuel pump, I can hear the tone then the machine start on key on step tow (it doesn't turn of until I unplug the wire from the battery)
I have spray contact cleaner at the bottom of the fuse box, in the 2 big connectors, I have softely knock on each relay in the fuse box, of course no fuse is open.
It stay a black mystery between the key contact and the fuse box.
Have you any idea of the origine of this issue?
Is there a way the I could have the electrical diagram between the key contact and the fuse box?

Check your machine has plenty water and oil our volvo minis seem to use water and it cuts fuel pump supply when it detects low water
