"ensure we offer the best aftermarket service possible"

Ashley Harden has run a 13t and 8t Sany for a couple of years now and from his twitter posts - I can only assume he's had no end of trouble obtaining parts and getting his dealer to sort issues. Only today he posted the tweet I put up here which no doubt references his experience with the Sany product.
I've driven the smaller 2.8t at a demo day and cant say it drove badly. Cab's needed modernising inside and a few details could have been sharper, but certainly have driven worse. However its the backup that sells the 2nd machine and maybe Sany have realised this a bit late for poor Ashley who's suffered by the sounds of it for being an early adopter of the brand.

Last couple of times I travelled South I saw a few 14t Sany's on the dualling road works at Perth. I haven't noticed them used on hire on big contracts like that before. Maybe they have been in use further South.

Didn't they already have a large warehouse up in Scotland with a few million in spares? Problem is, as they have increased the range of products sold, if they only keep the same sort of spares for each model it will still leave people waiting weeks for little crappy bits that will keep a machine sat in the yard or on site till repaired

I saw a post on 8t and under facebook group where someone was struggling for a Sany part and local dealers weren’t very helpful. Can’t find it now after searching.

If they’re such good value for money, why aren’t they posting prices up for all to see. Lots of “message for more details” type posts 🙄

That's the worst thing about plant. It's all message for prices. It's probably down to the fact that they just make the numbers up as they go.
Not sure if he is on here but one guy was selling sumwards then on to some other Chinese brand that has just come over, doesn't seem to be many sticking with it

😂 no but it’s buy 2 new ones for the price of 2 second hand other band ones, I’m going to try and go over tomorrow to try them out. Tbh I’ve looked at several other make new diggers lately and not one of them has done anything to impress me 🤷🏻‍♂️
What others did you look at ?

He used to praise them non stop on Facebook, wondered why he stopped
sounds like a decent parts warehouse is long overdue then  .... chicken and egg ... need to sell machines before filling a spares dept. with millions of pounds-worth of stock:rolleyes:

Up to now I’ve driven the kubota, Takeuch, bobcat and even carter 😂 the jcb is too dear and I’m not that struck on the newest ones, neuson won’t fit me a hydraulic hitch tho there is a machine for me to try next week.

what else is worth trying?

I watched a video of the latest liugong and it was going like feck, so I’m going try them, there are certain other things drawing me to the liugong dealer as well, not just the price

I only have one simple thing to say about any of the non main stream brands. Residual.
If a 1.5 tonner is £4k cheaper when I buy it, it doesn’t really matter if it’s £4k cheaper after 10 years, although obviously it needs to be taken into account, i more bothered about having a machine I like and will perform well, if it stays in one piece it won’t owe me anything after 5 years anyway 🤷🏻‍♂️

I understand your thought process. But if you come to shift it after a couple of years, it is still easier selling a main stream brand than a no name!! The gamble is, will it still be in one piece after 5 years!!
