The dumper is 25 years old, 1996, but no worse for that. Ex-Council and has stood inside for a couple of years. Has Reg Cert. Auas Dumper is brilliant, starts first half turn - under the bonnet job to stop it - and has the gears, brakes and turns.

on the topic of concrete, has anyone specified frost proof in batched concrete before? They are obviously going to have to put something in it in the first place else it’s going to freeze before getting to site surely? Normally I’d just cancel but I really need to pour this slab next week. 75% of it is indoors but no windows, will block them up best I can, otherpart is outside but decent walls around it to keep the wind off, will probably scaff board over it all and hessian it. It’s just given as low as -5 the night of!

Would accelerator help? The people I buy my concrete from are good as gold if you ask your supplier I'm sure they would help you

It'll be printed on the delivery note that it was batched below x deg C (could be 5 deg can't remember) at customers request so it's on you anyway. Best asking conc suppliers tbh.

Reality for that 1.2 ton version would be at £20k with mixer and dumper swivel body we’d be like take my money but £18k for base then £7k an option makes it too much. Doubt we’ll see any second hand ones either. That one was going up top of snowden to buikd new restaurant etc up There

Any way to get it up there on the train or was/is it just being tracked all the way?

Rural France is different and i already have a fair stockpile from extending my yard, if I ever need it I get it brought in - I can only run 10t about so doesn't work for me.
Only time I do I do it is when I know someone wanting a bit and I take it direct, I have a couple but they were too far away...... otherwise running it to yard putting it through riddle bucket and the running out later ...I've plenty to do otherwise thankfully.

I have a pan mixer for batching but it doesn’t get used that much as so much off the work now has an engineers spec for concrete so I can’t batch it up myself

I’ve got a few signs but when I put them out I’m advertising for scottish water and the SSE !

In America/Canada they mix with warm water and use accelerator then they have concrete blankets

If it’s not a finished slap cover with visqueen then chick a good layer of straw on it
