The met have had those for some time but don’t seem to use them. Not sure how good they are. I met a convoy of them on a canal tow path and they were trying to get me in my Ranger, towing a trailer to get onto the grass against the canal rather than them mounting the curb the other side. It could of course just be arrogance that I should get out of their way, but I didn’t fancy a swim.
I didn’t think nuke fuel could explode. It has to be enriched to get it to critical which is the whole thing with the Iranians and uranium enrichment so they can build the bomb.
Nuclear power plants can melt down, but they can’t explode, the physics doesn’t work like that.

Radioactive material will only explode under very very selective circumstances. Even enriched weapons grade material will just go supercritical and fry you with radiation rather than exploding.

We share similar passions. Highlight of my youth was a no hold barred pre 9.11 tour of Heysham 1. Quality afternoon that. Proper old legend if a bloke ...hide here from CCTV lad we not supposed to be in here 👌 walked the reactor floor etc

Highlight of my primary school years was a trip to Bradwell Nuclear Power Station, epic! That was a PROPER school trip!

Except this wasn't a school trip....I was helping a mate testing gear, lugging and carrying for a week and in last day the old fella who ran the dept said do you want a tour ....it most deffo wasn't the standard one. Had tag on and about 10 different body scanner things throughout the afternoon. Quality. Watching scaffers scanning every board before they loaded em up.
