do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
after all the down pours of the last week or so, combined with the on / off rain between 'em, yon lawn was in serious need of a hair cut .. heavy dew this morning but a clear blue sky, so gave it a couple of hours to 'burn off' 'fore giving it a going over ... bloody great pile off it ...
then it was the turn of the Dane to give the grass alongside the drive a going over ... in a similar state ... Boss says, before you do that can you pick up the windfalls as they're dropping in some order ATM ... so barrowed the lawn's pile down to the grass tip and set about the apples.
quick as I'm picking 'em up, the breeze, which wasn't much is shaking 'em off the tree, so thought 'sod this' - pick the damned things.
WP_20220914_16_55_15_Pro.jpg
was just picking the last couple and turned round in time to see the bloody barrow up-end itself and decant the bloody lot down the bank .:mad:
so after I'd picked 'em all up for the second time ... making sure the barrow was at less of an incline :mad:, wheeled 'em back down the house ....
WP_20220914_18_57_41_Pro.jpg
..... left 'em outside the door and disappeared with the Dane to deal with the grass ....
Hour later and I'm getting this ungrateful " what the hell am I going to do with all that lot " " you asked me to collect 'em all up ":giggle:
reckon there's a few apple pies and crumbles in that barrow .... better buy some bags of sugar tomorrow :ROFLMAO:
didn't go down well when I said there's probably the same again in eaters on t'other tree. Theay are however clinging on a bit better than these were.

Some may recall my disbelief last year at the lack of acorns that didn't rain down on me patch, as they usually do, around now .... virtually zero on the oaks last year and someone said they do that some years ..... well they'm making up for it this year .....
never seen so many .....
WP_20220914_17_37_17_Pro.jpg WP_20220914_17_37_23_Pro.jpg
and that's just one small tree .... God knows what's in the big uns over me patch ..... must have a look tomorrow

just put this in the classifieds in case it might be of interest to anyone .. Shogun up for grabs ..
this belongs to our 'nice' neighbours .... bought to tow a donkey box for their young daughter's pony ... Rorie (the wife), doesn't get on with it and it's been superseded by a freelander2, so is up for grabs.
don't know much about it, but can find out more if anyone's interested .. just passed an MOT - passed with minors (see pic.) ...3 good General Grabber AT2,s and one in need of changing - spare is also in the same state... 85k on the clock - auto and showing age related rot in the arches. it's on an 03 plate - diesel.
No idea what it's worth, or what they want for it .... but can ask.

Druid, have you ever considered putting some pipes in your grass pile and getting hot water out of it?

Was talking to someone about a composting hearing system a few weeks ago and was surprised by the relatively small volume required to get some reasonable amount of heat.

We have plenty of apples and pear on the fruit trees this year but very few conkers.
blackberrys're the same here too .... mega crop ... one plum tree was totally devoid and t'other fruited real early with some branches totally bare and others like bunches of grapes .. really weird ... holly has had berrys since June  might be a hard winter?

in town beginning of the week ... ATS's shiny new depot, courtesy of Aldi, finished, open and functional
WP_20220912_10_46_08_Pro.jpg
and Aldi's new extension getting unloaded

nice Lieb AT .... used to do a fair bit of X-hire and job swaps with Mervyn ... Richard's (R W Christopher) old man ..... come a long way in the last 20 years, from the couple of old Coles & Groves they used to run

Had the pressure washer out Sunday, 'fore going down to Vicki's for Harper's Birthday, last weekend, to do the Golf and thought I'd give the Disco a blast off .... sick of looking at the green on it - parked under the oaks ... looked better for it ....

gotta get my head around finding the lack of voltage to the injectors ...
it's one of two hundred odd built with a hot wire 3.5 and I have absolutely no idea WTF they've hidden the ECU .....
's under the dash somewhere, along with the aircon unit ... knowing LR it'll be behind that :mad:
if it was a 3.9 or a classic RR I'd know exactly where to look
gonna have to summon up the enthusiasm to pull it apart

You need a nice big shed with either a lift or pit and some cosy under floor heating 😍

got a RAVE disc, but this is a pretty unique Disco ... only 200-ish made with a 3.5 motor and hot wire metering on the injection ... ECU ain't where I'd expect it to be :(
by all means see what you can come up with ... you never know

There are some ECU’s behind the glove box for windows and other functions as far as I remember.

no glove box in this one though Shaun ... sodding great air con unit .... which is why I say the ECU might be behind it  ... right PITFA if it is ... loom is headed in that direction in the engine bay
hence the:- " gonna have to summon up the enthusiasm to pull it apart " :(
there are also (or should be) three fused supplies to the ECU ... two switched and one permanent ......
**** knows where LR hid them ... they ain't in the fuse box and're probably 'in line-ers' ... some where? Was their standard M.O., for anything non std., off the line .... just chuck a 'bullet' fuse in 😭
