I remember the Coronation clearly. I was at the village school and we all went to the village hall just along the road to be given our Coronation mugs. Still got mine. I think that it is such a shame that she witnessed a time when the United Kingdom was not as it should be. May Her Majesty Rest In Peace.

The wife met her about 30 years ago when she came to open a new wing of the hospital. Apparently the minders were getting twitchy because she insisted on spending more time with the staff instead of sticking to the timetable.

I think After she gave Boris his P45, she was like “Job Done”

All I can say is what so many people have said, I feel that I have known the queen form my entire life she has been there through good and bad and has represented and led our Country and the Commonwealth for 70 years it's now time to take a long earned rest and be reunited with PhilIp. God Bless and RIP.

I agree, not really a staunch royalist as such but sad to see her go, end of an era for sure, pomp and circumstance aside she always conducted herself with dignity and respect.
Yep only twice she mucked up, Diana and recently Epsteins pal

very much a generational thing ... very few people and certainly none of those under 75 will ever have seen the death and coronation of two monarchs in their lifetimes. Many of us may now do so.
QE2 has been Britain's 'rock' with her dedication to her role and her shoes will take some filling ..... not much hope of that for a while though :( ... Pity Anne wasn't the first born
