We’ve got a TT2515, GD84 single axle with mesh sides, GD84 twin axle , and LM105 (now has hiab fitted) and used to run a LM126.
The E10 micro is best in the GD84 as easy and safe to load on the mesh ramp. Putting it in the tipper is squeaky bum time IMHO Less so on an LM trailer but still faffing with ramps. So much easier to just drop a tailgate and roll out.
Looking to buy a plant trailer wide enough to fit the micro AND a track barrow side by side, but not convinced myself yet. The newer Ifor Plant trailers have a slight beaver tail section in the bed to reduce loading angle.
We have a moffett FLT with Kooi forks so loading pallets into either of the GD84 Is easy.
If you could only have 1 trailer, what'd it be?

As doob says, ifor gh1054. Also you get nice sturdy checker plate mud guards.

Depends what I was doing, but of my fleet I’d keep the LM105 with the 7m Fassi Hiab as that’s the one that cost me the most and hardest to replace!

For little jobs the single axle GD84 with mesh sides gets a LOT of use, fits anywhere behind any van and can be handballed around. Mesh sides mean you can chuck everyone in and go home without strapping. Will take almost a ton.

How do you find your trailer balance wise, I find with the micro at the back and two tracked dumpers at the front it's a little light on the towball
Strangely I find the exact opposite with the range rover. It must be something to do with hitch hight maybe. I have to position everything as far back as pos so the car doesn't drag it's arse .
With the disco is fine with whatever because it's got +2" springs.

I wondered why you had the jockey wheel down 😁

Wouldn't a stock trailer be better for that. Has partitions so can keep the labourers and machine drivers sperate, all in one cage might get a few arguments

I downsized my Disco 3 to a BMW X3 a few months back.

My criteria for a replacement to the Disco was
  1. Towing capacity >2,000kg
  2. 4WD
  3. Automatic
  4. Circa 2.0ltr for fuel economy
I narrowed it down to the following:
  1. Volvo XC60
  2. BMW X3
  3. Volkswagen Tiguan

Any of the 3 would have done and I tested several of each. The Tiguan had best towing rating at 2,500kg, in reality it felt the least stable of them all.
The BMW has surprised, a peach of a 2ltr 4 pot, it tows better than the Discovery and returns avg >30mpg with the trailer on compared with 19mpg for the Disco.
just tripped over this and thought it was pretty impressive for a 'modern' car -- 2500kg tow cap. ... and 4WD :giggle:

Haven't you got vehicles up the patch that can tow 3.5t and are 4wd ? 😄
I have, but neither have a ticket, both require work (of the total PITA type) and I CNBA in this shite weather :(
I really hope we get some decent weather this year coming
just thought that Sorrento spec was interesting by today's stds of motor ;)

Depends which way you look at it.
The old shape Sorento had a 3.5t towing capacity, and proper 4wd with a transfer box.
So in that way it's gone down hill a bit.

You ever thought about putting a workshop up ? 🤣

Yesterday I took some milk from the fridge at home and by coffee time the plastic bottle had collapsed in .....
.. colder in the workshop than the fridge 😬

The interest in working in crap weather definitely wanes with age 🙁
