I think its the same as my mate has gotThat’s itI’ve got most of it apart from the table
how does it work![]()
that's it ... follows a template much like a pantographic version, 'cept it's motorised not manual .. the speed controller varies the drive wheel speed around the template ... everything (the X & Y axes) needs to glide smoothlyI think its the same as my mate has got
He makes templates out of tin 10mm or 3/8" smaller than than your finished item, a little wheel that`s magnetized follows around the edge of the template and transfers the shape to the torch.
i'd guess that'll be yours Mog .... can't see many folk chasing thatjust googled it and there’s one on eBay at the moment so stuck a cheeky bid on itPlus I’m going to Swansea on Monday to drop some gear off so hopefully if I win it I can collect on my way home
im sure I can make something out of two of them![]()
Hope soi'd guess that'll be yours Mog .... can't see many folk chasing that
Hope soit’s a step up from burning free hand

YesIs it though? From what I’ve seen, you’re a dab hand with the torch. And you’ve got to spend the time to make the template.
I guess if you are making multiple of something then it might be worth the time?
Have you got a production run of something to use it for?
yes and no .... still got to make the templatesHope soit’s a step up from burning free hand

I see what your saying but if making Say a set of bucket brackets that have to match you only make one template and because it’s made from something like 2mm plate can cut on my hand shear and rub up on the linisher my biggest problem is holding the burner square to the job when going around corners doable but takes concentration (which I seem to run out of half way aroundyes and no .... still got to make the templates
yeh for multiples they're damned good ... the faff of making every template 10mm, or whatever it is, smaller/bigger if an internal is a right PITA thoughI see what your saying but if making Say a set of bucket brackets that have to match you only make one template and because it’s made from something like 2mm plate can cut on my hand shear and rub up on the linisher my biggest problem is holding the burner square to the job when going around corners doable but takes concentration (which I seem to run out of half way around)
we‘ll see what happens if I don’t get on with it I could just sell it to you and you could paint it![]()
How’s HMS Britannia looking now?!
No wonder it was heavy!!!!View attachment 37124Not done much with itI think I’m waiting for the arse to fall out of the scrap job
need to get on with it but it’s got 18” of concrete in the bottom of the hullbut managed to acquire a big breaker for my 18 tonner
as the burner is struggling with cutting concrete
