Yanmar clicking noise and not starting

So very amateur question but I was going to load up my Yanmar vio17 (first machine I have owned only bought it 2 weeks ago) to take to get serviced and on startup I'm just getting a continuous clicking noise from what I'm guessing is the starter/solenoid, I don't have the tools to diagnose the problem yet so should I try and fix it myself or just get the tech to some get it started and take it in for the service. Only 175 hours on it but its a 3 year old machine that has just been sitting around most of its life, it started up and was smooth only 4 days ago.

Ideally charge up the battery or put a jump on it and see how that goes.. first thing to try. Check battery terminals are all secure too

That's a flat battery (better than broken crank!)

As above - a charger or some jump leads should get it going.

probably original battery that's had an iffy life
